As Joel opened his eyes, I knew he would remember this place: white cotton, gold bed stand, gold flower vase on the table... With the confusion on his face, wasn't sure what was going on, he knew he was on earth, but the room he found himself was a place that I knew held a memory for him, and only him and I shared that memory back in Mystic World.
He rose up and sat, scanning his surroundings, "how did I get here?"
"Darling, we need to talk?"
He closed his eyes in annoyance. Abigail! He turned. "I should have guessed."
I tilted my head with my lips bent. "You can't blame a girl for cherishing old memories," wiggling my brow with naughty smile. "You remember this day don't you?"
He got up and rushed towards me like the wind: It one of his powers to run faster like a wind, he could be anywhere in a blink of an eye. Few people among our people has that kind of ability, and Joel was the only one left.
When he got to where I was standing, he was unable to touch me. "What is this?" He question in whispered.
"Tsk Tsk Tsk," shaking my head in pity. "Still arrogant as I remember." he frowns. "This," I said with my hands flying in the air. "Is my territory. I choose what happened here. So my dear, I will advise you to calm yourself down, because whatsoever I do to you here, affect your body down there, if you don't believe me; watch."
Stretched my hand to indicate look, and his gaze follow my hand as I showed him his body lying down under the tree with the rest of his army sleeping as well, except for four standing watch.
From where I was standing, lifted a finger and traced it down in the air, and Joel cheek began to tear right where he stood, so was his cheek on his body.
"What are you doing?" He yelled.
"Showing you the consequences if you don't behave yourself."
He frowns at me. "I will kill you for this."
"Oh stop it. You can try, bu—"
"You are letting that ring deceive you, you are nothing but a servant."
"You fell in love with this servant? Remember? "
"Don't be stupid, I was never in love with you." He glanced at me in disgust. "You are a fool to think I was. A man of my status would never stood so low to a servant. I thought you're smarter than that."
"Oh I am. I can assure you." I said with a frown face. "I mean, I wasn't. But I am now." I added, "You used me to get closer to the queen. Which by the way's nothing but a pile of ashes now," a wicked smile curved out from the corner of my lips, "how is your plan going by the way—"
Joel rushed to me again and immediately I stopped him with her telepathy power, Joel stopped and couldn't move, then quenched my fist and he bent, gasping for air, released my fist for him to stand straight, shaking to his boot like he was being struck by electric, and flipped him over and slammed him to the wall by the wave of the hand.
His body jacked from where he was, one of the soldier glared at him and back to his duty when he sees that he was not awake.
"Do not provoke me, Joel. We have things to do. Get yourself together and sit." I commanded and glanced at the bed for him to seat down.
He got up from the floor, dusted his clothe and moved towards the bed and sat. "What do you want?" He asked in anger.
"There's a woman, her name is Clara Benedict, she joined herself to you, she must have proposed working with you, probably to get ride of me. "
"Why should I tell you anything?"
"My dear, that wasn't a question. Am the one telling you things.
She's a witch. I suppose you already know that. This is what I don't understand; why you decide to accept her help knowing that she's working for Moloch?" Joel eyes widen in anger, the mentioned of Moloch changed the color of his eyes. "Or maybe you don't know," I added.
"I know you wouldn't stood so low to working with the man who rape and kill your beloved sister, and of cause, since Moloch is a demon, your sister cannot be revived nor reborn. I know you won't do that just to get to me. Or maybe am wrong, maybe your loyalty as changed. But... Last I checked —"
"You will shut your mouth." He spoke in anger. "I will ask you again, what do you want?" He commanded in anger.
"There's a saying... " I arch my upper lip. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." I tilted my head with devious smile.
"The ring is clearly affecting your mind, if you think I will work with you."
"Hm," beating my lips. "That the only time I will offer. But know this, I will kill Moloch, for Tabitha's sake, she was my friend and also a fellow woman. But," lifting a finger, "If am fighting Moloch and you're fighting me at the same time... That makes you a coward, isn't it? I mean, am fighting your battle and you're trying to kill me, even though we both know you won't succeed."
Joel smile warily. "You can't kill Moloch without me and you can't kill us both." I looked away. "We both know you're not that powerful, not even with that ring on your finger."
Turning my face back to him, my eyes had became white as snow. "Oh you have no idea," I said slowly shaking my head with strange voice. Joel eyes was fluttered in fear and moved backward. "Let me just kill you first, I will deal with Moloch later. After all, you know I will eventually kill you the minute you came down here."
Joel moved back till his back hit the wall. "Abigail, listen, the ring is poisoning you. You're not thinking straight." He said, like he was pleading for his life.
I guess a few minutes ago he had no idea the kind of power running through my veins until my eyes turned. Of course some of us knew how much power that was locked up in the ring, adding the fire from the wand to it... I felt unstoppable.
What Joel was currently seeing scared the life out of him. He had only heard a voice and see an eyes like that ones before. The tyrant that used the ring to bent people to his will. Joel was a boy at the time. His grand father told him about the power that runs in the vain of anyone who wield the full magic of that ring. He knew one word from me and he will become my slave for the rest of his life.
But that was not my plan. I wanted both Joel and Moloch fighting each other, while me and Michael get away without a trace. Without both of them being occupy, they will keep coming after me. And now that both of them knew about the Receiver, Micheal now had a target on his back.
Either Anna read too much history or she was telling the truth about this Pandora, I honestly don't want to be here when she shows up. I have been more stressed fitting for my life this past few days than I have in my 253 years of living.
If I compel Joel, it won't work as it would on humans. He will lost everything, including his powers to me, and he will be completely useless.
"Abigail, listen to me, I can't just abandon my mission. Joanna was sent with me to see this through."
"Let me deal with Joanna."
"Even if we work together and kill Moloch. What then, you will just let me go? You know I will come after you."
"First thing first my darling. You can come after me later."
"I know you, and I know you won't give up. So what are you getting from this? "
"Why I want Moloch dead is my business. And if you ever made it back home alive, maybe someone will tell you a story." That was a lie, there was no story, I only said that to divert his attention from digging in too deep. "Do we have a deal? Or should I just trapped you here?"
"You can't trap me here. One way or the other, Joanna will drag me out."
"Hm! Well then. I guess that a no?"
"Yes." He said in an heartbeat. "Let kill Moloch, for Tabitha's sake." I smiled wickedly. "What are you planning?"
"The human witch. Clara Benedict."
