Kenya:(holding Damon hand) you scared me baby, I thought I was bout to lose you
Damon:(weak) I'm okay
Kenya: shh, try and rest. I'll be right here ( moves his hair out his face)
Kenya pov: Damon's asthma was severe but he had it under control. It's never gotten this bad since we been together. Seeing him on that floor like that scared the hell outta me.
Imani: mama
Toya: yeah baby?
Imani: I wanna give dad a chance
Toya:(smiles) I'm happy to hear that
Imani: can I have his number so I can call him?
Toya: yeah,( going through her phone and gives her the number)
(Imani tries to call but it goes straight to voicemail)
Imani: keeps going to voicemail
Toya:huh? That's odd, try calling your step mama ( writing down Kenya's number)
Imani: okay(dials the number )
(Kenya sees her phone flashing and answers it)
Kenya: hello?
Imani: hi Ms. Kenya, this is Imani
Kenya: oh hi sweetheart
Imani: I tried calling my dad but his phone keeps going to voicemail, may I speak to him?
Kenya: he's in the hospital right now honey, he's pretty sedated at the moment
Imani: the hospital? Is he okay ? What happened?
Kenya:He had a really bad asthma attack earlier
Imani: oh no, is he gonna be okay?
Kenya: the doctors are still running test and trying different medications. As of right now he's fine
Imani: um- can I come sit with him? Please
Kenya: I think he would like that a lot
Imani: okay, I'll see you soon
Kenya: okay sweetie
(They hang up)
Toya:(comes out the bathroom) did you talk to him?
Imani: he's in the hospital, he had a severe asthma attack
Toya: omg, he okay?
Imani: for now, can you take me to see him?
Toya: yeah come on
45 minutes later:
Imani: walks in the room) hi
Kenya: hi sweetie, Dame look who's here
Damon: slowly opens his eyes) I-Imani ?
Imani:(comes closer to the bed) hi daddy, are you okay?
Damon:(nods slowly) I-I'm F-fine
Kenya: Dame I'm gonna go update mama I'll be back
Damon:nods) ok
(Kenya leaves out)
Imani:(sits down and grabs his hand) I'm sorry I have you a rough time. I would love for you to be apart of my life. You gotta get better daddy
Damon:(weak)I-l-love you
Imani: I love you too
