Damon: you feeling okay?
Kenya: (sighs) yeah I'm alright
(Kenya's phone rings)
Kenya:( answers ) hi Jay what's up?
Jacob:( sighs) more bad news sis
Kenya: sighs) what happened now ?
Jacob:(sniffs) papa passed this morning
Kenya: are you serious?(tearing up) from what? Where was he?
Jacob; at home and heart attack, his neighbor found him on the porch
Kenya: I'm getting a flight out there, dad don't need to be alone . Is he okay?
Jacob: he sounded okay but I know he tore up
Kenya:(sighs) I'm tired of all of this, it's too much
Jacob: yeah I know, how you holding up?
Kenya; I don't even know anymore, you?
Jacob: trying to stay strong for dad
Kenya:I should be there tonight or tomorrow, I'm gonna try and find a flight
Jacob:okay, I love you
Kenya: I love you too
(They hang up)
Damon: what's wrong now?
Kenya; papa passed this morning
Damon: damn. I am truly sorry baby(rubbing her back) you gone be alright?
Kenya: nods) mhm, I gotta book a flight. You gone be okay with the kids?
Damon: yes, go check on your family. Keep me posted alright
Kenya: alright
Damon pov: damn Ken can't catch a break I just feel so bad for them.
(Damon's phone rings)
Damon: hey baby girl, how are you?
Imani: hey daddy, I'm okay. How's the fam? I miss y'all
Damon: we miss you too, we alright, except for Ken
Imani:what happened ?
Damon: her grandma passed last night and her grandfather passed this morning
Imani: oh wow I am so sorry, is she okay? Can I speak to her real quick?
Damon; I don't know if she really wanna talk right now
Imani: please real quick
Damon: okay, Ken Mani wanna talk real quick
Kenya:ok(grabs the phone) hi pumpkin
Imani: are you alright mama K?
Kenya:(sniffs) imma be fine baby
Imani: you sure I know that's a lot on you
Kenya: mhm I'll be okay
Imani: okay, I don't want to keep you long, just wanted to check on you. I love you
Kenya: thank you baby, I appreciate that. I love you too(hands the phone back to Damon )
Damon: when you coming home to visit ?
Imani: soon, still trying to get used to campus but I will be coming maybe in 2 weeks
Damon: alright, well I love you and stay away from the boys
Imani:( laughs a little) yeah I love you too...
