Kenya pov: I was back from Carolina and feeling a little better. I still miss my grandparents though. We gave them a very nice homegoing. Dame was at work and the kids were at Yasmine's house cause she kept them for the weekend. I was unpacking when I heard the doorbell. I went downstairs and opened it to see Imani.
Kenya:hey pumpkin
Imani: hey mama K !(smiles and walks in) how you feeling? (Hugs her)
Kenya: I'm good honey how are you ?(closing the door )
Imani:sighs) I need to talk to you
Kenya: everything okay?
Imani: no
(They go sit in the living room)
Kenya: what's wrong ? Everything okay at school?
Imani:(twirling her fingers)school is fine

Imani: I'm so scared(crying) dad is gone be super disappointed
Kenya: everything is gonna be okay I promise you. Do you know who the father is ?
Imani:(sniffs) this junior named Jason Carter, he doesn't want anything to do with me or the baby. He said I was easy and all he wanted was to get into my panties. I thought he loved me
Kenya: rubbing her back) honey we gone take care of him don't you worry. What you need to focus on is telling your parents
Imani. I can't, dad is gonna be upset and I already know mama gone go off on me.
Kenya: it will only make things worse if you don't tell them. How far along are you ?
Imani: 6 weeks
Kenya: see you need to tell them
Imani: can you tell dad?

Damon:(walking into the living room) hey baby, hey my princess

Imani: sniffs) hi daddy

Kenya: I'll give y'all some alone time

Damon: did somebody hurt you Mani? What's wrong ?
Imani: I- I-I'm pregnant (looks down at her feet)
Damon: you're what? Is this a joke Mani? You going too far with these acting classes
Imani: daddy I'm serious, I'm 6 weeks. I just found out a few days ago
Damon: damn Imani ! This your first year in college. You're super young. You do not need a baby right now
Imani: dad it was a honest mistake we used protection I swear
Damon: you told your mama?
Imani: no not yet
Damon:sighs) well you better figure out what you gone done, I can't believe you Imani . Where's the father ?
Imani: he doesn't want anything to do with us
Damon:Have you lost your fucking mind? Why you out here fucking anyways !?
Kenya: alright Damon that's enough ! This baby is scared out of her mind. She wasn't intentionally trying to get pregnant. But it's our job to comfort and support her through this whatever she chooses to do
Damon: stay out of this kenya
Kenya: no, I'm not about to let y-(gco)
Damon: your are not her mother ! This ain't got shit to do with you, I said stay out of it!
Kenya:(scoffs) wow Dame(looks at Imani) you have my support if you need to talk about anything
Imani: thank you mama K
Kenya pov: I went upstairs and finished unpacking. It hurt for Damon to say I ain't her mother. I know that, but I've been the best step mother I could be. I want her to know she got me and can always come to me. I'll stay out of it though.
Imani: you didn't have to talk to her like that
Damon: call your mother
Imani: sighs and dials her mama number) she's at work so she might not answer
Toya:answers) hey baby you made it to your dad's?
Imani: yes I made it, I gotta tell you something
Toya: what's wrong?
Imani: I'm pregnant
Toya: what?
Imani: 6 weeks
Toya:(sighs) Mani what have I told you about them campus boys, do you know the father ?
Imani: yes, but he doesn't want to deal with us
Toya: did you tell your father ?
Imani: yes, he's upset
Toya: what you gone do?
Imani: I don't know (sniffs) I'm scared mama
Toya:takes a deep breath) don't be scared, we'll figure this out. I'll call you back once I'm on lunch
Imani: okay bye (hangs up)
Damon: you need to figure out what you gone do and I mean it
Imani: yes sir ..
