Robin & Nancy were just in Nancy's room studying, which Robin never paid much attention to because she didn't see much point in college anymore, she figured it would be just as bad as high school plus she just had a lot of trouble concentrating for some reason.
"Nance" *no response* "Nancyyy"
"What is it Robin?" she asked looking somewhat annoyed
"Can we take a break pleaseee?" she asked
"We've only been studying for *looks at watch* three hours!" she said a little shocked. for her the time just flew by. "okay yeah, let's take a break."
They went downstairs to get some soda's to bring upstairs "hello Robin it's good to see you! it's nice to see Nancy hanging out with a friend rather than one of those boys I have to worry about" Karen chuckled, Robin also started chucking but nervously. She's never been good around parents. "Yeah she's like the new Barb" Ted chimed in still reading a newspaper on his seat. his comment made Nancy look a little upset, Robin just still looked nervous, and Karen gave him a glare which he didn't even see due to his head being glued to the newspaper.
*the two headed back upstairs*
"So that was awkward" Robin blurted out
"yeah.. it was"
"Do you wanna talk about it?" Robin asked, she could tell Ted's ignorant comment got to her a bit.
"No... it's just why would he feel the need to say that?! "New Barb" what does that even mean?!" she stated getting annoyed with her father just thinking about him.
"Don't let him get to you Nance, your dad.. well he's not the brightest" "plus I know I could never replace Barb"
"You're right about both.. but just because you can't replace her doesn't mean I care for you any less" she said genuinely.
"honestly Robin this past week has been really amazing we no longer have to worry about crazy monsters trying to kill us, Max is doing slightly better, and.. I think you might just be my best friend" she smiled.
"You're my best friend too Nance, you and that Dingus Steve"
"Yeah Steve... about Steve has he mentioned me at all?"
"No.. wait are you two dating! I'm not gonna be a third wheel am I?!" Robin asked concerned.
"No no I'm with Jonathan still, it's just I think Steve might have the wrong idea of me and him"
"How so?" Robin asked curiously
"Well he says I was acting different when we were fighting Vecna.. like I was acting more like myself"
"What's that have to do with him??" Robin asked utterly confused
"Well I was spending a lot of time with him around that time, remember? you were there"
"Yeah and you were also spending time with Dustin yet I don't think you have feelings for him" "Dingus really can get full of himself sometimes"
Nancy just laughed at Robin's comment "okay okay enough boy drama let's get back to work"
"Do we have tooo?"
"Yes."
Robin just finally complied and they kept on studying.
It had now gotten pretty late
"hey it's getting pretty late" Nancy said while looking at her watch "maybe you could stay the night?" she asked
"Y-Yeah, I'd like that" Robin replied looking pretty nervous. She never really spent the night with friends much before, because well she didn't have many friends.
Robin said she could sleep on the ground but Nancy insisted she sleep in her bed, it was plenty big after all.
They both fell asleep with warm fuzzy feelings in their stomach's that they couldn't really place.
A/N I know Nancy's bed is actually pretty small in the show but for story purposes let's say it's not.
