After Nancy knocks on the door. It's opened not by the face she was dreading seeing, but one of her friends instead. "Max hey, I've been meaning to visit you. I've just been dealing with.. stuff. but anyway, I am glad you're looking better, what are you doing here at the Byers house?"
"Oh me? I'm just visiting El. you're here for Jonathan right?"
"Yes, yes I am" she says nervously. which Max may of picked up on before but she was dealing with stuff of her own at the moment. so Max didn't really notice Nancy's nerves and showed her to Jonathan's room.
"So.. you really want to break up?" Jonathan asks after they talk.
"Yes.. I'm sorry."
"Don't be sorry but.. can you please explain why?"
"I wish I could but I can't. I'm just dealing with some stuff, that's all I can say."
"So we deal with it together Nance"
'Nance, I didn't cringe this time. it just made me sad to hear' she thought
"We can't Jonathan I'm sorry there's.. there's someone else"
"Is it Steve?"
"No"
"Then who?"
"I.. I can't say."
"What? You're gonna break up with me for someone and you won't even say who? that's messed up Nance"
"Jonathan I-
"Please leave."
she doesn't wanna say much else seeing as she just broke his heart. so instead as she shuts the door she quietly says "I'm sorry"
*later with Robin, Steve, and her parents*
"So StEven. seeing as you're about to tAkE our daughter away from us. I have a FeW questions First" Richard says a bit tipsy
Steve swallows his food really quick and replies "yes sir"
Melissa leans over to Robin and says "let's clear the table while the boys are talking" Robin rolls her eyes but grabs her plate along with Steve's. he looked at her like a sad puppy since she just took his food. to which he just received a look from her that it was clear she found it funny.
"Have you HAd any previous Girlfriends?" Richard asks
"Just one"
"I see, and wHat about boyfriends?"
Steve looks as pale as a ghost and replies "No, of course not"
Richard just bursts out laughing and says "I just hAd to make sure" he laughs a little more hiccuping a little too then says "You're a fIne boy. Stu. I think YOu anD Robin will be a good fit"
Steve sighs in relief although he's a little confused as to why he was just called Stu.
A/N: there might not be too many mentions of what happened with Elmax in this story. but I am planning on making a Elmax story that follows the events of what happened with them in this one.. eventually.
