Trigger warning: sexist slur

Robin didn't have time to think about the whole Steve & Eddie thing thank god because It's now Sunday. which means... church. Robin hated going. love was always preached about in the building but if any of them actually knew who she loved then they'd be hateful. because somehow her love is wrong but her parents love is right even though they fight like everyday. when Robin was just a little bit younger she could usually get out of it by saying she was sick. which wasn't a lie she was sick, sick of going that is. but as the years went by her parents got suspicious of her coincidentally always being sick on Sunday. especially when every other day she was super hyper.

"You were with that whore again weren't you!?!"

"No I wasn't with YOU last night!"

and with that Robin shut her door as fast as she opened it. I wasn't kidding when I said they fought everyday, well at least every day her father was even around that is.

"Robin it's time for church!" her mother yelled

she went down the stairs and it was quiet either they stopped fighting or her father stormed out. of course it was the latter.

********************

they were now sitting in the building. just her and her mother, who knows where her dad was. the pastor said for everyone to turn to a certain page but she didn't, because something or should I say someone else caught her eye. there she was Nancy Wheeler sitting a row across from her with her family. it's a pretty small town so there's not many churches so this isn't that unlikely she just didn't know Nancy went to church. eventually Nancy made eye contact with her so she blushed and turned away but what she didn't notice was Nancy did the same. she was pulled out of her panic when her mother gave her a glare and pointed to the bible that Robin forgot to open.

*earlier with Nancy*

Nancy didn't mind church sure she didn't agree with all of it but at least it was one of the few times her whole family could spend time together. they'd go almost every Sunday except when all the upside down stuff was happening. when that was going on Mike & Nancy always made excuses to get out of it.

Nancy went there hoping it would take her mind off the whole Jonathan thing especially since the Byers didn't go to church so she wouldn't see him. but her hopes were diminished when she saw a certain someone there. that someone was Robin Buckley, her best friend. 'that's all she is, my best friend' Nancy thought to herself. she was trying to convince herself of it.. ever since that weird dream. but when Nancy saw her she couldn't help but blush. gosh this was gonna be a long Sunday.

A/N not trying to hate on church for people who actually enjoy going to it. my experiences with it have just been really bad so I find it difficult to write about very positively. again not trying to diss it.
