Hero Training

HEY!! So on the side is a picture of josh hutcherson as i want him to play Nolan if this is ever (probably never) made into a film... Wishful thinking but ENJOY his picture anyway

We were all given our timetables and me and Emma were ecstatic to see that they were the same. We had Hero Training first, whatever that was, so we headed off to find out. When we arrived, we were the first there.

The tables were laid out in twos, so we chose a table at the back.

‘I wonder who else is in this class.’ I mused aloud and Emma just shrugged.

‘Not a clue,’ she replied, pulling out her phone to play subway surfers.

After a while the room began to fill up. Nick and Kat were first. They sat by the door, almost as though they were eager to leave.

Candy and Continuum sat next to them, which left the table next to us.

My breath caught in my throat as Hale walked in with Nolan by his side.

They made their way over to the table and I had to nudge Emma hard in the ribs to stop her staring.

Our teacher entered and introduced himself. He was young too and went by the name of Andy Young. He’d gelled his brown hair into small spikes and was wearing a short sleeved polo which showed off his massive biceps (dreamy sigh).

He talked us through the different types of moves we can use whilst fighting bad guys.

A small white thing caught my eye as it soared through the air and landed on my desk.

I picked it up and unfolded it.

Gemma,

I was just wondering if I could go with you in partners?

I looked up to see him smiling at me.

Sure, why not?

Oh and can you ask Nolan to ask Emma? I think she likes him.

 

I glanced at Emma as I threw it back. She was concentrating not on professor young, but on Nolan.

I shook my head as I caught Hale’s eye. He hastily stifled a laugh as he saw what I meant.

‘Okay guys, find a partner! Girl, Boy.’ Professor Young called over the class and I walked over to Hale.

We watched as Nolan walked up to Emma and asked her to go with him.

‘YEAH!’ Emma yelled then corrected herself. ‘Might as well…’

I caught her eye and winked. She glared at me but quickly averted her eyes to Nolan.

‘What are we supposed to be doing?’ I asked with a small blush.

‘Trying to prevent each other using their powers, I think,’ Hale whispered into my ear, sending shivers down my spine.

‘Good luck stopping me time travelling,’ I said with a cheeky grin.

‘Oh, it’s on!’ he replied, then disappeared.

‘HALE!’ I yelled, extremely annoyed.

I closed my eyes and thought back to what I was doing the last night.

I felt myself moving and eventually found myself in my bedroom.

My other self wasn’t there as I had gone to the supermarket with my mum.

I sat down on my bed, pulling my laptop towards me. As I opened my laptop, I looked up.

‘AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!’ I screamed as I looked into the face of an extremely surprised Hale.

‘How did you get here?’ I demanded after id recovered from the shock.

‘I turned invisible and put my hands over your eyes. Then you came here…’ he trailed off, confusion clear in his eyes.

‘This is the evening before school starts,’ I told him as I logged into Spotify. ‘ I'm staying here for an hour. I’ll go back to the lesson about 5 minutes from when we left.’ I explained, patting the bed to indicate for him to sit down.

‘Have you done this often then?’ Hale asked as he sat cross legged facing me.

‘Only once or twice, like when I forgot to revise for a test,’ I blushed, putting on Disclosure – White Noise and turning the volume up.

Hale smiled and nodded his head in time with the song.

We stayed like that for another hour, talking, dancing, arguing over what song to play, before I grabbed his hand and went back to class

Everyone was moving back to their seats, so we did the same.

A piece of paper made its way onto my desk again, and I looked up in time to see Hale turn visible.

I really enjoyed that! Can we do it again sometime? (Any time zone you want) ;)

I grinned and wrote a reply.

Sure! How about tomorrow after school? Come to mine :D

I chucked the note vaguely in Hale’s direction.

I got it back almost immediately.

Yeah okay! Why not tonight?

 

I sighed, I knew he’d ask that.

I have Ballet…

 

Was all I wrote. Hale gave me an approving nod as I began concentrating on what professor young was saying.
