Where is she?

I can’t believe everyone is so happy for her.

I know I should be too, but I just can’t.

She annoys me so much, how she's always thinking about herself, how she never cares unless it affects her.

Oh and her shrieking in Combat Training, that got on my nerves so much.

I don’t know how I've put up with her for so long.

Its time I made friends with the right people, the ones who will have the power later on in  life, the ones with the best powers now….

Gemma’s POV

 

I left my house at the normal time to meet Emma on Tuesday, only to find that she wasn’t there.

Confused, I pulled my phone out of the pocket of my purple shorts to ring her.

All I got was her answer phone, which was weird. She doesn’t normally stay parted with her phone for more than a few seconds.

After 5 minutes I decided to walk on in case she’d got a lift as I didn’t want to be at school.

I walked through the corridors, desperately looking for a glimpse of my best friend when I saw Nolan and Hale walking the other way.

‘Gemma!’ Nolan yelled, running up to me, ‘Have you seen Emma?’ he asked, the desperation clear in his voice.

‘I was going to ask you the same thing,’ I said, the smile instantly disappearing from my face.

‘Oh my god,’ Nolan said, running his hands through his perfectly gelled hair, ruining the styled spikes, ‘Where on earth could she be?’

‘I don’t know, she isn’t answering my calls,’ I whispered, trying not to panic. Her phone might just be on charge.

‘She stopped replying to my texts at about 6:30 last night,’ Nolan muttered, his eyes darting around the hallway as he spoke.

‘She’s probably just ill,’ I said, trying to reassure myself as well as him. Who am I kidding? Emma doesn’t get ill, she just doesn’t.

‘Lets go to assembly, and see if she turns up…’ I called, leading them both off down the hallway. We sat in seats at the top of one of the tiered seats, opposite the door.

‘Welcome to your second assembly!’ Professor Ringwood’s voice called from the stage below us.

‘I have some…’ she started but was interrupted as the doors swung open with a bang. The room filled with smoke that set everyone off coughing and I peered down trying to make out who had made such a dramatic entrance.

‘Oh my god..’
