Take a seat...

There was silence around me as realisation hit everyone who had just woken up.

‘Gemma…?’ Luca whispered, almost as though she was afraid whoever, or whatever, was out there would hear her.

‘Use you powers, everyone…’ I whispered back, seeing everyone nod slightly out of the corners of my eyes.

We all arranged ourselves in a defensive line facing the wall the noise was coming from.

I could hear people breathing deeply as our heart rates increased as the tension rose.

We hadn’t heard a bang in a few minutes.

BANG

I took a deep breath to steady my nerves, telling myself I CAN fight off anything.

BANG

A dent the shape and size of a fist appeared in the metal door.

A scene from my nightmare flashed in front of my eyes:

I scrambled back up and started to run down the corridor, my broken wrist cradled against my chest.

I shook my head, promising myself that couldn’t happen. I'm in The Super Enrichment Programme… Nothing bad can happen…

I rocketed around a sudden corner to slam into yet another wall.

‘Everything will be okay,’ I whispered under my breath, ‘We will be fine,’

This time there was no other way to run, no other path or option but to stay.

I felt my body begin to shake with fear, the next moment of the nightmare playing through my mind, the moment I saw them.

‘Gem,’ Hale called as he grabbed my shoulders, steadying me as my legs began to give way.

‘What happened?’ he asked concern clear in his eyes and voice.

‘I saw my nightmare, saw it happen…’I muttered shamefacedly.

‘Concentrate on fighting now, I know you’re strong enough to get through anything. Let’s start with whatever this is…’ he trailed off, a blush creeping onto his face.

‘Yeah…’ I whispered, forcing a smile onto my face as more fist marks appeared in the metal.

‘Take control…’ Ringwood muttered as she moved past me to stand at the end of the line.

I nodded determinedly, running through everyone’s powers and possible uses in my head.

We had: me (time travel), Hale (Invisibility and shape shifting), Nolan (Super strength), Luca (turning other things invisible), Ringwood (putting people in indestructible bubbles) and Mr Lee (who has a sonic voice).

I quickly thought up a plan and swiftly put it into action.

‘Luca, turn everyone invisible and hide yourself. Nolan when we’re invisible you need to break the steel wall open and Hale and Mr Lee will help you pin down whatever is out there. Ringwood can then put it in a bubble. If this fails I will take us all back in time so that there are two of all of us for a short amount of time.

Everyone nodded and moved to where they would be most helpful. I hid with Luca behind a pile of out belongings under Mr Lee’s desk.

‘Nolan…Now,’ I called quietly, watching as everyone disappeared from sight and the steel wall was ripped open by an invisible force.

I watched with wide eyes as the attackers were pinned to the floor before being suspended in a bubble.

We emerged from our hiding place to see who was in the bubble.

‘I don’t believe it…’ I heard Luca mutter as we got a good look at them.

‘How unexpected to see you again so soon,’ She hissed to the male of the pair.

‘It seems you both have some explaining to do…’ I demanded, gesturing for Ringwood to let them down.

I watched as the bubble popped and The Super Enrichment Programme’s resident twins plummeted to the ground.

‘HOW IN THE HELL DID YOU GET OUT OF THE LIBRARY?’ I roared, losing the smiley persona in a split second.

‘That’s a long story,’ Continuum muttered and Candy nodded, her eyes wide from my out burst.

‘Well take a seat… We’ve got nothing but time,’
