The next day I got up early, leaving Curtis and Colt sleeping. They looked adorable together and I smiled. I got dressed quietly and left. I walked down to the medical car and sighed when the nurse smiled at me when I walked in.
"Ah Mrs. Everett we have been expecting you. Come with me." She said and I got concerned but followed. I knew Wilford probably made a call then and I sighed. She set me behind a privacy curtain and handed me a paper gown.
"Please put this on and wait for the doctor. He will be right in." She said and I nodded. I knew then I should have brought Curtis with me, I was nervous and scared. After I finished changing, I sat on the exam table and sighed. It was not like this when I was pregnant with Colt.
***FLASHBACK***
"Tanya...we need to talk..." I said and took her to the back of the train.
"What is wrong with you." She said and I sighed.
"I'm late..." I said and she smiled.
"How late?" She asked.
"3 months late." I said and she looked at me shocked.
"Esme!" She groaned.
"Listen being late is normal for me which is why I waited but now 3 months is not normal. What do I do?" I asked panicked and she sighed grabbing my hands.
"You are going to calm down for one. It's not a huge deal. Woman on the train are having babies it seems like every day. I mean hell you know I'm pregnant." She said and I sighed.
"I also know the number of babies who don't make it on the train when they are born back here." I said and she sighed.
"Hey, don't think like that. Everything will be safe, but I think the first order of business is to go see the midwife to get it confirmed." She said and I nodded as we walked a little further back on the train to see the midwife. After an examination I rushed to find Lance. I found him talking to Tanya and her husband.
"I was wondering where you got to, Tanya was keeping tight lipped." Lance said and gave me a small kiss. I smiled.
"Lance...I got some news..." I said and smiled. He seemed to notice.
"You pregnant?" Lance asked and I nodded.
"We're having a baby!" I said and he picked me up spinning me around.
"I'm so excited! Soon we will be off the train, have our baby and we will live our lives." Lance said as I hugged him. He was right, life on this train was ending soon, I just knew it.
***END FLASHBACK***
"Mrs. Everett." I heard a voice speak up pulling me from my memories. I gave a small smile as the doctor walked in.
"I'm Doctor Isles. So, we are here for a pregnancy examination, correct?" She asked and I nodded.
"Yes, I would like to make sure I could still have children." I said and she nodded.
"Okay well let's get started." She said and I laid down on the table.

Once I got done, I headed back to the room to see the boys awake and eating.
"Hey, you were gone early this morning. I was worried." Curtis said as I walked up to him and gave him a small kiss, then kissed Colt on his cheek.
"I went to the doctor." I said and Curtis looked at me as I sat down and took some toast from his plate, he winked at me.
"You sick mama?" Colt asked and I smiled at him.
"No buddy, I'm okay just a checkup." I said and he nodded.
"What did the doc day?" Curtis asked.
"All systems go....literally that's what she said..." I said and he laughed rolling his eyes.
"She tell when the best time would be to try?" Curtis asked.
"Next week." I said and he smiled with a nod, I just shook my head with a gave a small laugh.
"Calm down Mr. Everett...we need to discuss somethings." I said and he sighed but nodded.
"After we talk Colt to school?" He asked and I nodded.
❄❄❄❄❄
After taking Colt to school Curtis and I went back to talk in our room.
"So, we need to discuss if we really want to do this..." I said and he sighed.
"I mean I want a kid, I know that, but I wanted to have a kid naturally when we wanted to not because Wilford is asking us to." Curtis said and I nodded. Curtis took my hands and I sighed.
"What do we do?" I asked. Curtis sighed, he leaned in to give me a small kiss.
"Nothing says it will happen the first time trying right? I mean we can just try, continue us...doing what we do...and if it happens, it happens." Curtis said and I nodded.
"Okay...I think I can do that." I said. I then sighed.
"What?" Curtis asked.
"Colt...I have to think about how Colt is going to take this...I mean he has been an only child for so long." I said.
"We can talk to him when the time is right. I mean he acclimated so well to the front of the train when he first got here..." Curtis said and I nodded.
"Yeah...we will just have to see." I said and Curtis smiled.
He leaned in and passionately kissed me. I pulled him closer to me and started to lay on the couch with him on top of me. As we started to undress each other there was a knock on the door. Curtis grumbled as we quickly put our shirts, we had taken off back on he walked to the door and opened it to see Mason.
"I would like to say I'm shocked but since I went to the doctor this morning, I'm really not." I said and she plastered a fake smile.
"I heard, Wilford knows and is expecting great things..." She said and I sighed.
"So why are you here Mason?" Curtis asked walking back over to stand with me.
"Well, you have held up the first end of your bargain, so Wilford is holding up his. It's time to go to the back to make deliveries." Mason said.
