I opened the door and almost thought I was going to pass out.

"Tanya?!" I asked in shock and wrapped my arms around her and hugged her as she hugged me back. I looked down and saw Timmy once we broke apart, I hugged him.

"Aunt Esme too tight!" He said and I released him. I let them walk in.

"What are you doing here? How are you here?" I asked. Tanya looked at Curtis.

"Ask your husband." She said and I turned to look at him.

"I know you have made friends up here but Tanya and Timmy are more than friends they are family. I want our family together." Curtis said. I walked over to him and hugged him.

"Thank you so much." I said and he smiled down at me in his embrace.

"I just want you to have everything Esme." Curtis said and I smiled. "Let me get the food set up." Curtis said and I nodded as he let me go.

"Can Timmy and I go play in my room?" Colt asked and I looked at Curtis.

"Is there time?" I asked.

"How about after dinner." Curtis said and Colt nodded. We all then sat down after a few minutes and had dinner. Curtis and Tanya filled me in on how everything went down and how they were now joining us and staying.

A few days later Tanya and I had just gotten done dropping the kids off at school when Mason came up to me.

"Esme..." Tanya said and I shook my head.

"It's fine." I said and she looked at me oddly.

"Mason...to what do I owe this...encounter?" I asked and she sneered at me.

"Wilford would like to see you." Mason said and I groaned.

"I'm not feeling the best this morning, morning sickness and all." I said rubbing my stomach.

"Unfortunately, he doesn't care, you may want to go Curtis is waiting for you there." Mason said and I looked panicked.

"Tanya, go to your place. I will be back later." I said and she nodded. I pushed past Mason and rushed to the engine of the train. It seemed to take forever to get there, and I could feel my nerves clenching as the bile rose in my throat. Once I got to the door to the engine room and I sighed. I punched in the code and walked in.

"Ahhh there she is! Finally." Wilford said seeing me walk in and I sighed. I saw Curtis and he groaned.

"You said she wouldn't be needed for this meeting when you called me here." Curtis said and I walked over to Curtis.

"Curtis, this is a family decision. Of course, I would bring your wife in on the choice you will need to make." Wilford said. I looked at Wilford, then Curtis. The door opened again, and I saw someone bringing in a few trays of food. Wilford led me to a chair and sat me down next to Curtis. The food was set in front of me and felt my stomach clench.

"I'm going to be sick." I said as Wilford handed me a small waste basket in just enough time. Curtis rubbed my back as I got sick, once I was done Wilford handed me a napkin.

"I'm sorry my dear, I had no idea your morning sickness was so bad." Wilford said and I glared at him.

"It's fine. Can I just find out why Curtis and I are here so I can go lay down." I said.

"I can see what attracted you to her Curtis, she is very forward and knows what she wants when she wants it." Wilford said and I felt like I was going to be sick again.

"Wilford..." I groaned and he rolled his eyes.

"Fine...the reason I called you all here was because I need to speak with you about when my time comes to an end of running this train." Wilford said.

"Will it be soon?" I asked.

"We are always unsure of time frames for our lives. I mean who even know the time frame of your lives. Young and healthy it seems but accidents happen." Wilford was saying and I grabbed Curtis's hand. I had a feeling Wilford wouldn't hurt me carrying a child, but I was worried for Curtis.

"So, what are you saying?" Curtis finally spoke up just wanting us both out of this situation.

"What I'm saying is when my time does come, I am going to need a successor to take over the train and ensure everyone's safety and travels through this frozen world." Wilford said. He just looked at Curtis and I. He smiled. "Which leads me to you two." He said.

"Us?" I asked confused.

"It's no lie I have taken a liking to you two, I mean I never would have let anyone but Mason up here to see me this much and not even her half the time. Once Curtis fought to bring you up here Esme, I knew he wasn't someone to mess with. I knew he was strong then I met you, the strongest woman I have ever met." Wilford said and I sighed looking at Curtis.

"So can I just cut to this. You want Curtis and I to run the train when you eventually die?" I asked and he sighed but nodded.

"No." I said going to stand up, but Curtis tightened his grip on my hand. I whipped my head down to look at him. "You can't seriously be considering this?!" I asked in shock.

"I just think we should maybe hear him out." Curtis said and I shook my head yanking my hand away from Curtis.

"I don't want this for my family." I said and Curtis sighed as I turned to leave.

"This is a one-time offer Esme! You don't do this you, Curtis, Colt, Tanya and Timmy all go to the back of the train and I can't ensure the safety of you or your unborn child." Wilford said stopping me in my tracks.
