Curtis and I picked Colt up from school then went back to the room to read over what Wilford gave me.
"I just said I wanted to go back and make sure everyone was getting everything he promised. I didn't want a job." I said and Curtis said.
"I don't like this, there is something going on with this Esme." Curtis said and I sighed.
"I mean if I say no, what happens?" I asked and Curtis shrugged and then read the paper.
"It says if you don't agree to this, everything you agreed upon in null in void and everyone back there suffers more." Curtis said and I groaned. I placed my head in my hands, Curtis ran his hand up and down.
"Mama..." Colt said and I looked up at him.
"Yeah buddy?" I asked.
"Do you need a hug mama?" Colt asked and I smirked at him.
"I think so. You wanna give me a hug?" I asked and he nodded. He came over and wrapped his arms around my neck and held on. I looked at Curtis and he smiled. "You gonna join this family hug?" I asked and he smiled, wrapping his arms around me and Colt. Once we broke apart I looked at Curtis.
"Hand me a pen." I said and he grabbed on from the table and sighed as I signed the paper. I then grabbed the notepad that was on the coffee table.
"What are you doing?" Curtis asked.
"Making it known that when I got back there I want you to be the main guard to go back with me." I said and Curtis nodded. Once I was done writing it out I signed it as well knowing Wilford would have to as well. Once it was done I stood up and sighed.
"I think I have to take this to him myself." I said and Curtis groaned.
"I don't like this at all." Curtis said and I groaned.
"Come with me?" I asked.
"Colt." He said and I sighed.
"Bring him with us. You two can stay outside the room." I said and Curtis sighed. He didn't like the idea of taking Colt but he didn't want me to go alone either. I took Colt's hand and we headed out of the room and down towards the engine. As we approached Curtis picked up Colt to protect him.
"You going to be okay?" Curtis asked and I nodded.
"He seems to like me." I said and Curtis sighed. He leaned down and passionately kissed me, almost like it was the last time he was going to see me. I kissed Colt's cheek and he smiled. I knocked on the engine door. It was opened and I walked in.
"Ah! Mrs. Everett, I didn't plan on seeing you so soon." He said and I handed him the envelope.
"It's signed but I also gave you my own contract." I said and he smiled looking intrigued and pulled it form the envelope.
"Oh Esme, this was a given but of course I will sign off on it. I will get you a copy of these in a few days." He said and I went to leave.
"Won't you stay and join me for dinner?" He asked and I sighed.
"Curtis and Colt are waiting for me outside." I said and he got excited.
"Colt's here! I would love to meet him. Bring him in." He said and I shook my head.
"With all due respect Wilford..." I started to say.
"BRING HIM IN!" Wilford yelled causing me to flinch. I went to the main door to the train engine and looked out.
"Wilford wants to meet him." I said and Curtis.
"Then I come in too." Curtis said and I sighed.
"Yes Curtis, come in! I would love to see the Everett family." Wilford said and I sighed. Curtis took my hand and walked in still carrying Colt. Once Wilford saw all of us he smiled.
"The Everett family. You're good-looking family, just what we need on this train." Wilford said. He walked over to Colt in Curtis' arms and smiled.
"He looks like you Esme, lucky kid. But looking at you and Curtis when you get to making babies they will be lucky to look like either of you." Wilford said and I gave a small smile. I could tell Curtis was clenching his jaw. "Also don't forget about our deal. I only do for you if you do for me." Wilford said and I groaned.
"I will get to the doctor tomorrow." I said and he nodded.
"Okay well we better go. We wanted some time with Colt." Curtis said and I nodded.
"Yes go spend time as the 3 of you. I don't think it will be that way very long." Wilford said and I sighed as we walked out.
"Mama, he was scary." Colt said.
"I know baby, you wont have to meet him again." I said and he nodded. We walked back to our train car and just spent time in and spending time together, as a family.

That night Curtis and I were laying in bed after putting Colt to bed and were just cuddled. My head was on his chest and he ran his fingers through my hair.
"Curtis, what if something happens and I cant produce another child? Would he send me back?" I asked and Curtis groaned.
"You're my wife now Esme so over my dead body would he be sending you anywhere. If you can't have kids we will cross the bridge when we get there. Either was you look at it we already have one great kid." Curtis said and I smiled looking up at him.
"Thank you for accepting Colt as your own. He is lucky to have a dad like you." I said. Curtis leaned down and passionately kissed me. As he started to hover over me there was a small knock on our door.
"Come in." I said and Curtis sat up as did I.
"I had a nightmare, can I sleep with you guys?" Colt asked. I looked at Curtis who got out of bed and picked him up.
"You sure can little man." He said and put him in bed between us. We all laid back down and got comfortable. I smiled as Curtis told Colt a small story to get him back to sleep. If this was all I ever got in my life I knew it would be complete. We were happy, we had what we wanted and I didn't think I was ever going to be this happy again.
