It had been a week and a half since they came and took Curtis. I hadn't heard from him, I hadn't even been able to get in to see him and Wilford. I just wanted my husband back. I was getting Colt ready for school one morning when Tanya came walking in.
"Ready to go Colt?" Tanya asked as we walked out of his room.
"Mom, aren't you taking me?" Colt asked heartbroken.
"Colt the twins are sleeping and I can't take them. I don't want to wake them either. They didn't sleep last night." I said.
"I hate them! It's always about them! I want dad! At least he made time for me!" Colt yelled and stormed over to Tanya as my eyes filled with tears. Tanya gave me a small smile.
"Hey bud, with your dad gone mom is doing the best she can." Tanya said. Colt just huffed. Tanya leaned down to Colt and whispered something to him. He then walked over to me and wrapped me in a hug and I hugged him back.
"I'm sorry." He said and I smiled kissing the top of his head.
"It's okay buddy, I miss dad too." I said and felt some tears fall. Once Colt released me he walked back to Tanya.
"After I take them to school I'm coming to get Lotus and Lux. You need to get some sleep." Tanya said.
"No, I couldn't ask you..." I started to say.
"No arguments." She said and I nodded. I waved bye to the boys and they were gone. I sighed and cleaned up from breakfast. Tanya came back soon and took both babies back to her room. I sighed having the place to myself. It was silent, it hadn't been silent in so long. The only thing I heard was the movement of the train. I walked into my room and just laid on the bed. I started crying clutching Curtis' pillow.
I wasn't sure when I had fallen asleep but I had. I panicked when I woke because the room was dark and silent. I got up and walked to the living room on the train and I saw Colt and Timmy coloring, the twins in the bassinet awake but laying quietly and Tanya was cooking.
"Hey mama." Colt said as he saw me and I smiled.
"Hey buddy. Hey everyone is here." I said and Tanya smiled.
"Yeah I'm making us all dinner. You need sometime to rest." Tanya said and I just shook my head.
"No, I don't have time to rest. I have the twins and Colt. I'm doing to alone from now on." I said.
"Hey, he will send for you eventually. You know he will." Tanya said and I shrugged.
"Don't know. I think I fucked up our lives meeting Wilford." I said and Tanya sighed and wrapped me in a hug.
"Curtis will be home soon. I can feel it." Tanya said and I sighed.
"I would just be happy for a meeting. Even if it's just for like 10 minutes. Just to see him." I said and Tanya nodded.
"Soon." Was all Tanya said. She then smiled at me.
"I have to run and do something really quick. I'm missing something for dinner. You okay to sit with the kids?" Tanya asked and I nodded.
"Since 3 of the 4 of them are mine I think I'm good." I said and we laughed. Tanya left and I smiled at the kids. All I wanted to do was break down and cry but I had kids to watch and didn't have that option.
***TANYA POV***
I left the room and walked down towards the front of the train. Curtis needed to come see her. It had been a week and a half. I could tell Esme hadn't slept well in that time.
The walk was long and nerve wrecking but I didn't care anymore. I wanted my friend to have her husband again. Esme was lucky to find love again after her husband died. I wouldn't let another husband be taken away from her.
Once I reached the main train door to the engine I banged on it. It was opened quickly by a woman I had never seen before.
"Can I help you?" She asked.
"I'm here for Curtis." I said and she huffed a laugh.
"Curtis is in training and can not be disturbed." She said and I huffed a laugh.
"Well fine can you pass on a message to him?" I asked. I was hoping he could hear me.
"If I can." She said.
"Can you tell him Esme needs him. In the week and a half he has been gone she hasn't been sleeping well, eating, or taking care of herself. She is only concerned about the twins and Colt. Colt isn't understanding this situation and taking it out on Esme. He needs to make at least a visit home." I explained. The lady looked behind her and then gave a half nod.
"I will let him know." She said.
"Can I at least see he's alive?" I asked. She laughed and shut the door in my face. I sighed and started to walk away.
As I was walking away I heard the door open again and the lady was standing there.
"You have one night." She said.
"Whatever." Curtis said and walked up. He rushed up to me and hugged me.
"Let's go to my wife." Curtis said and smiled.
***NORMAL POV***
I was finishing changing the twins when the door opened.
"Get what you need?" I asked not looking up.
"Yeah, amongst other things." Tanya said. I was too concerned with getting Lux in his onesie I wasn't looking up.
"Dad!" Colt yelled and ran past me. I snapped my head up and saw Curtis holding and hugging Colt. My eyes filled with tears as I just looked at Curtis. He put Colt down and walked over to me. I wrapped him in a hug and he just held me as I cried. He gently pulled me away from him, leaned down and passionately kissed me. He then looked at my face. Tired and worn out. He turned to look at Tanya.
"Can you take the twins tonight?" He asked.
"Of course." Tanya said.
"Curtis..." I said and he shook his head.
"I'm here all night. We are sleeping. I want to hold you all night." Curtis said and I smiled. He placed a hand on my cheek using his thumb to wipe away the tears that were falling.
"I love you." I said.
"I love you. I'm sorry I've been away." Curtis said and I just wrapped my arms around his midsection again and hugged him, I was never going to let him go.
