"What's with the smile?" I got startled as soon as Simon noticed I was smiling in deep thoughts. "Ever since you worked for that steaming hot boss of yours, all I can see are hearts flashing in your eyes" heat came busting on my cheeks. Yah, it's been a month already, and still I only see Drew a couple of times, I missed him now. My eyes went wide realizing what my mind just said, "are you okay?" Simon asked concerned, I took a deep breath "no, yes! I'm fine". Not ready to share my heart's confusion with my best friend who always acted on things exaggeratedly.

And speaking of, "so how was work? as a boss?" I immediately changed the topic. He sighed, " I never thought being in that position was as easy as one, two, three," I smiled at him then reached his hand, "I know you can do it, you deserve it—" Kath went inside the bar shrieking interrupting our conversation, "Oh dear!" I smell bad news coming, "I can't believe this! Look." Kath handed us the newspaper she was holding. I glanced at the latest discount from Mango, I whistled, "60-70% discount sale?!" Simon and I giggled "So is this what your shrieking about?" Simon sarcastically blurted. Kath rolled her eyes, then flipped the next page "there!"

My eyes almost popped out from its sockets, "He's engaged?!" Simon said it too loud it almost exploded my eardrums. I can't help but stared at his photo with some girl's picture, correction his fiancé's picture. "Who's is this lucky gold digger?!" Simon made a point to show his sympathy on me with him being rude. "bachelor CEO, finally made ties! what a caption" Kath added.

Still I have difficulty registering it, how come this was too soon? Suddenly I stiffened, this can't be. "Bea." I whispered softly but clearly enough to be heard by my friends.

Two pairs of worried eyes are staring me, then I started to be anxious "why now, this can't be, this can't be" I said to myself then Simon hugged me. "Sssh, calm down dear, I think it's time" Me and Kath both were shocked to what Simon have said. "Time for what?!" Kath asked, "I don't think so" I answered.

"So, what are you thinking? are you going to have this lie forever?!" Simon started to become angry. I just stared back at the photo, he looked happy now, do I have to interrupt? I definitely agree things really do change, and so are feelings.

The next day, I assumed everyone in the office already knew about the engagement of our CEO. "Looks like the dream is over, dear" I rolled my eyes, Lhianne doesn't have to remind me. "And so are yours" I managed to answer back her sarcasm. Her lips straightened I can say she's pissed, "well, at least it was quite fair, right?" she blurted, yeah fair enough that she doesn't carry a lie the way I have.

While I was about to deliver the report to Mr. timbre's office, I bumped into Badj "Carrie!" he looked surprised. "Hi Badj, good morning" I said then he smiled dryly. I was about to continue heading to my way when Badj called me, "Yes?" why does he sound so disturbed, oh I get it! I rolled my eyes then before he could talk I got in, "I'm aware of it Badj" I said with a smile and if only he knew how hurt I was inside. "Carrie, I... I thought, you and Drew..." he run his fingers through his hair, we were silent for a moment then I continued "well, looks like things went well too soon" I drew my gaze away from his "I'm sorry" what's wrong with this man?! and why is he apologizing? "You don't have to besides there's no need to, there is nothing going on between us anymore, past is past and I think his happy now" and then before my tears might fall I hurriedly turn back on my way to Mr. Timbre's office.

Phew, I got away from Badj and went inside Mr. Timbre's office. "Carrie, thanks for delivering" he said as I placed the box on his desk, "No problem Sir" but as I was heading back to the door "Carrie wait" I stopped and Mr. Timbre handed me a letter, oh no, it doesn't look like a letter more like an engagement invitation.
