I toss and turn violently, I turn my head to see Luke snoring peacefully besides me, my heart warms at how beautiful he looks in his sleep, it's a shame that he has to open his mouth sometimes. I quietly climb out of his bed, I scan the room for a pair of pants, I sloppily throw on a pair of his joggers before mutely grabbing his keys, I mentally pray that the keys don't jangle as I walk.
I just needed some air.
I needed to be able to breathe.
Relief floods inside of me when I make it out of the door silently without waking him up, I slowly begin to walk downstairs. The second that I get outside, I greet the harsh air invitingly.
Why was everything becoming so difficult?
I stopped my therapy sessions, Claudia said that I was ready, so why did I literally feel as if I've been dragged four steps back.
I didn't know whether it was just adjusting to a new environment, so everything felt terrifying or because I knew that Kyle could appear at any-moment.
I desperately tried to get Lara to listen to me, earlier when I went back to collect some clothes for the next few days, but she refused to listen, she claimed that I was a jealous ex who just wrote my article as a claim to fame. But that didn't stop the guilt that I felt, knowing that he could hurt her at any opportunity he got.
'Well, well, well...' A voice drawls out behind me.
My entire body tense, my hands begin to tremble erratically, 'W-What do you want?'
Kyle chuckles at me darkly, 'I'm just saying hello to an old friend.'
I narrow my eyes as nausea washes over me, 'W-We aren't friends.'
'Come on A, we used to be best friends.'
'T-That was before...'
He rolls his eyes, 'Before what? You got too drunk and accused me of rape.'
I flinch at the word, 'I-It isn't an accusation if it's true.'
'I hear you and Wilson are official now.'
I nod stiffly, 'Y-Yeah.'
'Where is he?'
Panic invades my bloodstream like an unwanted pathogen, 'H-He's coming down in a second, he's just putting his shoes on.'
A small smirk tugs on his lip and I immediately feel repulsed, 'You know, I saw your dorm room before very cute. By the way, I find it adorable that you still wear navy blue underwear. T-That was always my favourite on you.'
I take a few steps back as uneven breaths escape my lips, 'Y-You went through my stuff?'
He shrugs, 'Your roommate takes a long-time to shower and I got bored.'
My teeth begin to chatter from the amount my body is shaking, 'Y-You're fucking sick.'
'I hear you fucking tried to warn her or some shit, what the fuck is wrong with you?'
Hot tears begin to stream down my face, 'W-What's wrong with me?! I-I wasn't going to let you hurt another girl.'
Pain ripples through my arm as he grabs me tightly before throwing me roughly against the brick-wall next to us, 'If you aren't careful, you're going to ruin my fucking life.'
I narrow my eyes dangerous, 'You already ruined mine.'
My eyes widen when I feel my phone begin to vibrate, I hesitantly reach into my pocket, I close my eyes shut when I read the caller I.D.
