Secrets revealed: Mikey

Today you were stuck in traffic, the usual in NYC of course what did you expect? The city is always bustling night and day no matter the hour.

You were waiting for the line to move as you wanted to get home and relax after a long day of working. However unbeknownst to you, your grandparents have decided to give you a surprise visit.

Meanwhile your grandparents were lucky to catch a cab and were able to beat the traffic. They had made it to your apartment and had gotten access inside your apartment by your spare key you had hidden just in case you lost your original one. You had told them where it was in case they've visited you whenever you weren't home.

They made themselves at home in your apartment and realized you weren't home yet. To them this was alright cause they knew once you came back home you'd be surprised to see them.

Mikey was making his way to your apartment to spend time with you knowing you've gotten off work by now as he knew your schedule. He however had no idea what was in store for him in your apartment...

He made it to your fire escaped and crawled inside through the window you left unlocked for him for whenever he wanted to visit. He crawled inside and made it into your room and he looked around for you, but scratched his head when he didn't see you, "Y/n?" He called out for you.

Your grandma was spooked, "Oh my gosh...Honey did you hear that? I think someone else is here in Y/n's apartment." She whispered to your grandpa.

Your grandpa messed with his hearing aid, "Huh? Watchu say?" He said calmly and clearly heard nothing.

Your grandma made a annoyed sigh, "Someone else is here in Y/n's apartment." She repeated.

Your grandpa nodded, "Oh, maybe it's a friend or boyfriend?" He suggested.

Your grandma huffed ad put her arms on her hips, "We've checked around her apartment for Y/n and we've been waiting by the door..How would they get in?" She told him

Grandpa looked at her, "I dunno lets go ask then or we can call the cops." He told her.

Your grandma grumbled in response, "Yes cause asking a home intruder is a good idea. Sometimes I feel you've lost your marbles you old coot." She bickered. This was usual for them as they were usually bickering. However they still obviously loved eachother.

The grandpa went to get up to obviously go check it out, but your grandmother wasn't having any of it and pushed him towards the kitchen to the pantry door to use as a sort of hiding spot.

Mikey could hear the ruckus outside the room and figured you were pulling a prank. So he smiled and crouched down as he exited your bedroom to try and find you, "Where are you?~" he said playfully. However without context it sounds like a home intruder scenario looking for their victims.

Your grandmother forced herself and grandpa into the kitchen pantry to hide.

Mikey hummed in thought as he looked around for you. It was confusing however. So he started looking in obvious hiding spots like closets, under the bed, behind chairs or couches, under tables, etc. Then he made his way to the pantry door and opened it up surprised to see two elderly people in it.

Your grandparents screamed in shock at what they were face to face with.

Mikey screamed too just in response and cause they spooked him too.

After a while you finally made it to your apartment. However you heard voices in your apartment as you arrived to your door. You were confused and even double checked the room number to make sure this was indeed your apartment. It was indeed your room so who in the world was in your apartment? You quickly unlocked the door and opened it to see Mikey and your grandpa on the couch talking. You even more confused assuming you were dreaming

Mikey was watching tv and had a bandage on his head, you then watched your grandma come into the living room with a plate of cookies in hand, "Oh hey Y/n~ Glad you made it home safely." Your grandmother said casually as you were still flabbergasted.

You closed the door behind you and stuttered, "uhm uh.." you started.

Your grandma handed the cookies to Mikey, "Yes your green friend told us everything." She said calmly already knowing what you were gonna ask, "So sit down and relax, eat some cookies" she said calmly to you.

You just accepted it without protest. You went over and sat in your arm chair and looked at Miky for an explanation. "Well?.." you asked.

Mikey looked at you with his puffy cheeks as he had stuffed some cookies in his mouth, "hm?" He seemed clueless at first but then read your facial expression. "Oh yea right, so uh you grandparents explained to me that they came for a surprise visit. And I had no idea about it and obviously neither did you..so I came to your place like usual without expecting anyone else...Anyways uh your grandparents thought I was a burglar and locked themselves in the pantry of all places. I thought you were hiding from me as I knew I heard someone so I went searching and ended up finding your grandparents...then your grandma hit me in the head with the broom...Where this came from." He explained and then pat the spot on his head where the band-aid was.

You blinked in response and looked at your grandma who came back with a glass of milk for Mikey, "That's true I gave him a good whop on the head and after some convincing he calmed us down and we were then ready to listen to him explain." She stated.

Miky chuckled, "Then you grandma apologized and offered to make cookies as repayment for the bonk on the head." He said with a goofy grin

Your grandma smiled, "Yeah, I'm still sorry for the misunderstanding Michel." She apologized.

Mikey smiled and took a sip of his milk leaving a milk-stache on his upper lip, "Don't worry ma'am and you can call me Mikey~" he assured her calmly

You seemed relieved ,but also still in disbelief that your grandparents were just chill about it. Like it didn't even phase them at all...But you were glad they didnt say anything seemingly hurtful to Mikey as it would hurt you if your family members said something hurtful to him and made him insecure and sad

You spent some nice quality time with your grandparents and Mikey, Mikey got to know your grandparents and seemingly got along well with them. It made you extremely happy. Eventually when it got late your grandparents left to their own hotel for the night as they had tons of things planned to do whilst in NYC..
