Belly's birthday had always been a very special occasion during the summer.

Her birthday was the only birthday they all celebrated in the summer houses since everyone else was born outside of the summer months.

Everyone except for the birthday girl was in the kitchen getting ready for the girls' day.

Conrad and Jeremiah were by the island counter eating breakfast. Peter and Susannah were setting down some food and decorations around the main dining table while Liam set up birthday banners and balloons. Steven, Delilah, and laurel all stood by the stove making breakfast.

"Steven move, I gotta flip the thing." Delilah giggled as Steven jokingly caged the girl.

"You gotta make it golden brown and stuff." Steven nagged as Delilah rolled her eyes and flipped the pancake before setting it down on the stove.

"Morning everyone," Belly called and everyone turned to face the girl with smiles.

"Happy birthday!" They all chorused and Belly giggled as she got smothered with hugs. Delilah turned off the stove and ran up to the girl once Peter, Susannah, Liam, and Jeremiah gave her hugs.

"Happy birthday you crazy bitch! Oh, I love you!" Delilah squealed as she wrapped her arms around Belly's shoulders tightly and hugged the girl.

Belly let out a giggle as she hugged the girl back "why thank you other crazy bitch. I love you too."

"Belly button's getting old finally. Happy birthday." Steven said as he took a bite of bacon while Delilah headed back to the stove to start plating the food.

"Happy birthday sweetheart, your mickey mouse pancakes are ready." Laurel smiled at her daughter but Belly shook her head.

"I'm not really uh -hungry."

Conrad and Delilah exchanged glances as she took a bite of the cereal he was eating, Jeremiah standing beside her as he gently played with the ends of her hair.

"Shall we open gifts?" Peter then spoke up, trying to diffuse the tension between Laurel and Belly.

"Ooh, you're gonna love mine," Jeremiah said, Delilah scoffed.

"Not as much as she's gonna love mine!"

"Oh, you're so on."

In the living room, Delilah sat on the arm of Conrad's chair, Peter sat on the arm of the couch Sussanah and Laurel sat on and Liam sat on the floor next to Jeremiah.

Belly opened Laurel's gift with a smile as Laurel explained where she got it from.

"It's your favorite poem," Laurel said as she looked pointedly at Susannah.

"Oh yeah! I remember Susannah teaching us to recite this. For whatever we lose-"

"Like a you or me," Jeremiah and Delilah joined in with a smile.

"It's always ourselves we find in the sea." The whole group eventually chorused together.

Delilah missed this. She missed all of them hanging out with no phones and no drama, when everything was easier.

Belly continued to open more gifts, she got a set of pearls from Susannah, a bath and bodywork set from Liam ("it smelled like fruits, like the grape kool-aid incident you remember guys?"), Peter got her a pair of beautiful daisy earrings.
