The car ride has surprisingly been peaceful.

So far.

Belly was in control of the AUX, and soft music played since Conrad was still focused on studying the backseat. None of the teens talked much, whether out of awareness or just to allow Conrad to study Delilah didn't know, she was grateful for the serenity either way.

Delilah continued to read on her phone, her head resting on Conrad's shoulder as he continued to study.

Belly let out a yawn, she wrapped her arms around herself and made a face.

They knew the girl long enough to know all of Belly's signs.

"You cold?" Jeremiah asked, his eyes flicking over to Belly briefly.

"No, I just-"

Delilah watched silently as Conrad reached for his Brown hoodie and handed it to Belly, his eyes not leaving his textbook.

"Oh thank you." Belly smiled as she quickly put it on. Delilah continued to watch as Belly finally noticed Jeremiah's expression, how his grip on the wheel had tightened and his jaw was locked.

Delilah knew Jeremiah long enough to know when he got jealous.

And for once in a long time, it wasn't over her.

"Alright, im gonna play something to bring up the mood," Belly said, tapping her fingers quickly on her phone. Delilah had put down her phone, her eyes drifting to the view next to her as the song "Free Fallin" by Tom Petty flowed through the car.

"She's a good girl, loves her mamma. Loves Jesus, and America too." Belly and Jeremiah sang loudly, grinning at each other. She knew their dynamic had changed but still, Delilah smiled. Susannah loved this song, so of course all the summer teens grew to love it equally as much.

"She's a good girl- come on Lilah!" Jeremiah called from the driver's seat, his eyes meeting hers through the rearview mirror. Delilah's eyes locked with his from where her head was still on Conrad's shoulder, she didn't miss the way Jeremiah's eyes flashed.

"Loves horses, and her boyfriend too." Delilah rolled her eyes but sang with a smile, looking up at Conrad and shrugging. Conrad finally broke out into a smile as Delilah started getting into it.

"Yeah!"

"Now im free!" Delilah, Belly, and Jeremiah chorused. Delilah pinched Conrad's arm and the boy finally caved.

"Free Fallin!" The whole car screamed with wide grins. They all laughed as Conrad shook his head fondly at the three of them, Delilah saw the soft smile on his lips though as he muttered under his breath.
