"Sorry again for all the trouble officers, it won't happen again." Laurel tightly smiled at the police officers as they left, she shut the door and turned to face the teenagers with a stony expression.

The 6 teens stood along the hall with tired and ashamed expressions. Conrad was seated on the bench, Belly stood against the corner wall, Liam stood beside her with Steven on his other side, Jeremiah stood beside Steven and Delilah stood in front of Jeremiah.

"How could you guys be so irresponsible?" Laurel asked sternly, Delilah bit her lip and looked to the floor.

"Mom, it wasn't a big deal. Alright, seriously the cops were just there to break up the bonfire." Steven tried to reason but Laurel wasn't having it.

"Not a big deal?" Laurel scoffed.

"I would say getting picked up by the cops for underage drinking is a pretty big deal, Steven." Laurel reprimanded.

Steven didn't say anything for a moment, Jeremiah was absentmindedly playing with the tips of Delilah's hair as STeven finally spoke up again.

"W-were you guys smoking tonight?" Steven asked as he sniffed the air.

"Keep your voice down Susannah's asleep on the couch," Laurel said sternly, Steven tried to protest but Jeremiah cut in.

"Just so you know Laurel, I didn't drink tonight. I was the DD I swear." Jeremiah said, Laurel just shook her head and pointed at Conrad.

"You're the oldest, what the hell has gotten into you," Laurel snapped. Conrad's expression did not change as he just stared blankly at Laurel.

Delilah was watching Conrad closely for any sort of reaction, it was like he had completely changed from last summer.

"And you two" Laurel then pointed to Liam and Delilah making the siblings shrink back.

"Liam what were you thinking, you could have gotten into so much trouble. Delilah, I would think you were more sensible to get caught drinking like this." Laurel sighed, Liam mumbled an apology while Delilah spoke up softly.

"In my defense, most of my drinks were 95% Kool-Aid and 5% of whatever was in the keg." But Laurel had moved on from her and was onto Belly.

"And when did you leave the house without telling anybody? And what in the world are you wearing? " Laurel raised her voice at the youngest in the room.

"It's Taylor's, and why am I the only one not allowed to go out?" Belly said desperately.

"It's not that you're not allowed, it's that you should have told us you were going. And how did you even get there?"

"I walked."

"Jesus-" It went on back and forth between the two heatedly.

"If you want to be treated like an adult, you need to act like one."

"Maybe you should too," Conrad spoke up for the first time during the whole conversation.

The hallway fell deathly silent as everyone stared at Conrad.

Delilah felt her eyes widen at his words and Laurel looked at Conrad with a mixture of emotions, mainly anger.

"What does that mean?" Laurel asked, Conrad just shrugged and Laurel continued.

"I hope you realize this night could have ended a lot differently if your family wasn't your family." laurel said as she looked between Jeremiah and Conrad.

"We're sorry Laur '' Delilah and Jeremiah spoke up in unison, Jeremiah's hand had come to rest gently on the curve of her waist in a comforting way.

"Just-just go to bed guys. Liam Del, you guys stay here tonight, I'll send a text to your dad so he doesn't panic when you guys aren't there tomorrow morning."
