"Gosh, they haven't changed the prices here in years."

Conrad's voice snapped Delilah back to reality. The girl glanced back at Jeremiah for a moment before turning to Conrad.

"Huh, you're right," Delilah mumbled when she analyzed the prizes. The polar bear Conrad got Belly when they were 13 was still there, and the golden retriever Jeremiah got her last summer was still there too.

Delilah could feel Jeremiah watching her from the corner of her eye, waiting to see if she would pick it up again.

"My dearest Evan, would you be so kind as to give me the Koala right there?" Delilah faked a bad British accent as she smiled at the boy. Evan laughed as he grabbed the Koala and passed it to her.

"The pleasure is all mine, Lady Delilah," Evan responded with an equally bad accent.t the girl hugged the small Koala close to her chest as she turned to face everyone.

"Im gonna name him Troy Bolton," Delilah announced, causing all of them to laugh.

"Well you guys won, you guys get to choose the next game," Liam said. Delilah glanced at Jeremiah and smirked.

"I think it's time to show off some moves, don't you?" Delilah raised a brow at Jeremiah and the boy smirked.

"Oh, you're on."

"Race ya!" Delilah laughed and the two teenagers took off.

Delilah and Jeremiah laughed as they raced towards the arcade again, pushing each other back and forth to win. As they ran side by side, screaming with laughter, it felt as if they were free.

Free from the worries of being more than friends, less than friends, the future, college, missing Susannah. All of that disappeared from their heads.

For those few seconds, they were kids again. The same kids who couldn't even begin to understand the concept of love, but knew they felt it with each other anyway.

Delilah turned back to Jeremiah with a grin on her face as he tried to overtake her, she looked back towards the front when a stranger bumped into her roughly, sending her falling to the floor.

Jeremiah's eyes widened and dived for the girl, catching her in his arms just before she slammed against the floor.

The teenagers breathed heavily as Delilah tried to blink away her shock, her arms gripped Jeremiah's biceps to steady herself as the boy set her upright.

"Hey, you okay? Are you hurt?" Jeremiah frowned as his hand reached up to sweep away the hair covering her face, tilting her head side to side to check for injuries.

"Im okay." Delilah swallowed, her voice coming out breathier than expected. If it was because she was exhausted from the fact Jeremiah was still holding her like he did back then, she wouldn't know.

"Hey! Watch it asshole" Jeremiah sneered at the guy who had walked them off a few feet away, a new look of anger sparking Jeremiah's eyes. Delilah pursed her lip and pulled on his arm.

"Come on forget it. Let's get inside and enjoy the AC."Delilah smiled, Jeremiah looked down on her still fuming but softened and nodded.

Since they raced, they were much further ahead than the rest of the summer teens. The two of them walk side by side through the arcade, stopping whenever one of the games aught Jeremiah's eye.

"Remember the last time we were at this Broadwalk?" Jeremiah suddenly asked. Delilah blinked, and the girl cast Jeremiah a weary look Jeremiah was staring ahead. Delilah looked down at her Koala and sighed.
