"And I don't know how it gets better than this..."

Delilah blinked at the ringtone she had set for Jeremiah. She picked up her phone without taking her eyes off her book, Six of Crows.

"Hey Seaweed Brain."

"Hi, what are you doing right now?" Jeremiah asked. Delilah could hear the smile in his voice.

"Just reading, what's up?"

"See I think I might have gotten lost and ended up outside your house?" Jeremiah sang, Delilah gasped and sat up. The girl ran over to the window, her hand flying to her mouth as she tried to mask her squeal.

Jeremiah's jeep reflected the Christmas lights hung around the Collins front porch. Jeremiah leaned against the car, his eyes trained on Delilah's window as he sent the girl a wave.

Delilah shook her head with a laugh of disbelief.

"What are you doing here? Your mom is gonna kill you." Delilah grinned, talking to her phone as she kept her gaze on Jeremiah outside. Jeremiah's grin widened as he opened up his arms.

"Aren't you gonna come out and hug your boyfriend? Im cold Lilah, dont make me beg."

Delilah was out the door in seconds.

The girl practically flew into Jeremiah's open arms, her arms wrapping around his shoulders and his around her waist.

The girl laughed as Jeremiah spun her around slightly before setting her down and cupping her face. The boy leaned down and pulled the girl into a sweet kiss, Delilah's heart almost burst.

"Jere im serious, what are you doing here? It takes like 9 hours to get to Toronto from Boston." Delilah shook her head once the couple was in the car. Delilah's hand was in Jeremiah's on his knee, and the boy just grinned.

"You trust me?" Jeremiah looked at her as he started the car. Delilah's eyes twinkled.

"Always."

The couple talked about school and everything in their lives as they drove. Delilah was in charge of the AUX, the girl blasted the High School Musical soundtracks and of course, 1989 TV as they drove.

Delilah laughed out loud when she saw the familiar roads of Cousins.

Delilah and Conrad didn't say anything as they ate.

Both teenagers had left bad memories when they were last here, they both still hadn't processed everything since they were back.

"Did you tell anyone we were here?" Conrad finally broke the silence as Delilah finished her coffee, the girl shook her head as she watched Conrad pack away the box.

"No one. I lied to my dad and Liam, I was supposed to meet them for Steven's graduation. " Delilah said, Conrad flinched.

"That was today?"

"Yeah."

It was silent again, the best friends weren't sure how to talk... after everything that happened.

Then Conrad finally asked the question.

"Did you tell Jere?"

Delilah's heart panged the same way it always did whenever someone brought him up, she turned to Conrad with a miserable smile.
