Chapter 17-Parent's Day continues
*RILEY'S POV*
I looked over at Reese and smiled. I still couldn't believe he was mine. He glanced over to me and squeezed my hand softly with a small smile.
"So, what are your classes like here. Any different from back home?" My mom asked looking between the both of us with a huge smile on her face.
"Yeah, they are quite a bit different, but a good different. All the teachers are so nice," I gushed with a smile. "And I have a fantastic tutor for history." I added looking at Reese and winked at him.
"That's grea-" She started before she was interrupted by the headmaster.
"Hello ladies and gentlemen!" The headmaster's voice boomed over the speakers. "I would like to welcome all the parents-"
I completely zoned out of the rest of whatever he was saying, for the most part he was just explaining what parents day is to all the new parents here today. My mind was fluttering to Reese sitting right next to me. I glanced over at him and took in his happy face. His hair was the perfect amount of messy so that it looked good, his muscles were showing out of his black short sleeve shirt and he had a bright smile playing on his soft lips. I sighed as I thought of the image of him shirtless with washboard abs and his arms around me...
He must've noticed I was staring, because he winked at me and started tracing patterns on my hand, making me shiver. I blushed when I realized my mother was watching us with fascination. Dad actually seemed to being trying to not watch us. I couldn't help but wonder what's going through their minds.
"Please enjoy your stay, and I hope you enjoy our banquet!" The headmaster finished. Everyone clapped their hands, and Daughtry came back on stage to play.
"Can you excuse me?" Reese asked standing up. I gave him a questioning look, then nodded. He gently kissed me on the lips then stood up and left. I watched him until he walked out of the cafeteria before looking at my parents on the other side of the table.
"You really like that boy don't you?" My father asked with a grim face. Obviously upset that his little girl was growing up. Being his only child, a daughter at that, he didn't know exactly what to do about his baby girl falling in love.
"I knew sending you here was a great idea!" My mom said beaming when I nodded. A blush crept to my cheeks. Wait, what is she talking about?
"What do you mean?" I asked innocently.
"Well, darling, you were in such a slum after Braden-"
"Brandon," I corrected automatically. She never could remember his name.
"Brandon, whatever. You were in such a slum after Brandon broke up with you," she said. How did she know he broke up with me? She looked at my confused look and added, "Yes Ri, I know he broke up with you long before you even told that best friend of yours."
"until two months after it happened. I waited the entire summer before telling her, I couldn't bare it. Being dumped by the most popular jock? Not something I wanted to admit to people considering I was one of the most popular girls.
"Because that beautiful glow of yours vanished and was gone the entire summer. I thought it was because you wouldn't be seeing either of them since they were going off to camp. But even when they got back, your glow was still gone. You were still being silent and in your room most of the time," She explained.
Summer feels so long ago now. With everything that has happened throughout the year, I can hardly believe that that is my life. Was my life. I don't know what I'd do without Ryan, Reese, Blaze, or Parker. Parker. His name crossed my mind and I couldn't help but wonder when the last time I saw him was. I looked over to where Blaze was sitting with John. They were laughing and having a good time, Parker and who I assumed was his mother was sitting next to him.
"Back," A very familiar accent said. I smiled and looked behind me to find Reese standing there. Behind him, shockingly, was Ryan. It's been a long time since I seen him. I stood up and hugged Reese. "I thought you might want to see this dipshi- this butthead," he said with a laugh.
"Yeah," I said pulling away. I was immediately engulfed in a hug by Ryan. I laughed and kissed his cheek. "Missed you too!" I gasped as he squeezed tired.
He laughed and pulled away. "So what's this I hear about my sister dating some kid?"
"Look for yourself," I replied pointing to where Blaze and John were sitting. He caught them at the exact moment that they kissed. I laughed. It's such perfect timing for a brother to catch his sister.
"She's dating John?" he demanded. I nodded looking at him curiously. "I'm glad that kid finally got the balls to ask her out. I told him she isn't as intimidating as she looks, you know with the purple hair and all."
"So you know John?" I asked, shocked because she never actually introduced me to him. Which is understandable. Most of my time has been either spent studying and playing catch-up or with Reese. It's hard for me to be away from him sometimes.
"Yeah," He replied, "What, you don't? He's the top of the class even!"
"Really?" I asked even more surprised. "She's never even brought him around."
"Probably because him and Reese hate each other," Ryan replied dismissively. Like its old news. "You didn't know that either?"
"No," I replied looking between Reese and John," What happened between them?"
"That is something you are going to have to ask Reese about. It is not my place to tell you, nor will I tell you no matter how much you beg," He replied seriously. I opened my mouth to say something, but was cut off immediately by him saying, "I got to go, I'm supposed to be with father." At that he walked in the direction of Blaze and John. The headmaster was now sitting there and joined the conversation. His face instantly lit up when he saw Ryan walking his way.
I just sat down and wondered about what could have caused them to hate each other so much that not even my best friend could introduce me to him. I guess I either have to ask Blaze and try to get it out of her, or woman up and ask Reese.

But, either way, here is chapter 17. I hope you enjoyed at least. Next chaper is going to have something with Callie and Malibu stuff, can't forget about her, she is still Riley's bestie!
