I wake with a burst of excitement and feel a wet tongue licking my face.
Opening my eyes I see..."BENNY!!"
Mum opens the door and I see both my parents with big wide grins.
"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Annica.....
Happy birthday to you!!" They sing in unison, their cheery voices filling the room.
And then it hits me, I'm turning fourteen today! Lenny, Milly and Abby are coming. Mum and Dad leave me to get dressed and I jump out of bed and strip my pyjamas off, pulling out some nice blue jeans and a white and green stripy t shirt.
I open the window to let some fresh air in and then I run out into the kitchen to see my favourite breakfast layed out on the table....
PANCAKES!! Yum!!!..........................
Two hours later Lenny, Milly, Abby and I sit on my favourite rock and watch the goats prancing around and jumping over logs. We find Totti, and Abby cuddles her for half an hour! Lenny and I tell the girls about her premature birth and how lucky she is to still be alive. Milly says she must have a hug now so she cares for the kid like its her own.
"This is so much fun! What other animals do you have?" Abby asks. Since she lives in the city this farm is amazing to her. We go over to the pig pen and I show them the piglets. Milly has never seen piglets so they are a delight to her. They have grown a lot since they were born around six weeks ago.
"There are five piglets. You can each name one if you like!" I said
"Sure!! I'll name this one Olivia." Said Milly, cuddling the little piglet close to her chest.
Lenny named his Hope and Abby named hers Ginny.
After we went around the farm looking at the prancing goats; gorgeous piglets; baaahing sheep; beautiful horses; mooing cows and clucking chickens we went into the house and had a really yummy dinner. My favourite meal... pasta!
Mum and Dad loved chatting to my friends though eventually I had to stop their conversations because it was raining."Anyone feel like dancing in the rain?!" I say
"Whoohooo, YES!" My friends yell.
Running out into the pouring rain we dance and sing and an hour later we are soaked. Though we don't stop there. Sliding through the mud we have wars and end up covered completely with sticky mud all over us!
Once we have washed ourselves off in the rain and got changed and dry we set up the tent with no struggles at all. Zipping the zip shut we cuddle into our sleeping bags and lie there listening to the light pitter patter of the rain and then the faint animal calls in the distance. Falling asleep I feel so lucky to have friends like Abby, Milly and Lenny in my life.
.........................
I wake up with a piercing screaming sound. I turn my head and yell, bursting my voice box as I turn and see...
