Lenny's POV
It has been just over an hour, should I be worried? I go with my instincts and decide to wait for another fifteen minutes. While Milly and Abby have been gone, Annica has woken up. She is still extremely pale and isn't talking.
Thinking about her, I look down once again and see her lovely face with a blank expression. What is she going through? What happened? I have been asking these questions to myself a lot over the past hour but my mind hasn't been helping me, I have received no answer. Annica stirs, interrupting my thoughts. I take a few steps towards her and bend down."Annica, can you here me? Are you alright?"
"Uh huh. I need a drink." She says, I feel light headed with relief that she is okay and run over to the back pack, pulling out the cool drink bottle. Her cut is still bleeding and she isn't getting stronger but the fact that she is awake is a good sign.
Putting the cold flask up to her mouth I tip the bottle and she swallows the water eagerly. I notice cut and the bleeding is slowly stopping, not much blood has seeped through the t shirt since the girls left.
Checking my watch I start to get a bit nervous. Charlie comes over from resting on Annica's lap and licks my hand. Maybe he can sense my worry."Lenny." I hear a loud voice yell.
I look up quickly and see Milly, Abby and Benny running towards us. I jump up excited.
"Have you found help?" But my voice is cut away by the wind.
As they get closer I feel scared but at the same time curious. My mind is pounding with questions, what happened, have they found help, where did they go? I am about to ask them when they both collapse on the ground, exhausted after running for so long.
"Sorry, we were so long."
"But we found a mobile phone!"
"Awesome! Did you find anyone that can help us or at least Annica?" I say.
Five minutes passes, with the girls chattering and talking about what they did and what they found. They go over to Annica and they see the state she is in. She has fallen back asleep and is still loosing a bit of blood. Now I know that they have found a mobile phone, but it needs to be charged. I get the phone from the girls and sadness suddenly waves through me as I realise it's my Mum's. Where is she now? Is she alright?
I click the on/off button and the screen lights up, a picture of me and mum holding a baby goat. A tear slips down my face but I quickly wipe it away. I look up on the right hand corner and see the small 1% with the red charging symbol flashing. Turning it off quickly I call the girls over and we discuss what to do."I say we find a way to charge it, then ring for help." Abby says.
"I don't know, we need help pretty quickly especially for Annica." Milly states.
"I agree with you Milly. We should at least try and ring while we still have charge and it is still working." I put in.
"Okay, I'm fine with that."
"Lenny, you can ring." Milly hands the phone over.
I unlock the iphone and type in Mum's code. I push the contact symbol and I can't help but let out a stream of tears when I see all my relatives numbers. We decide to ring triple zero so I go into the keypad and slowly dial 000. My hands are trembling.
"Here goes..." my voice is shaking. The trill of the ring thrills me and I scream inside with excitement when I hear an deep voice answer.
"Fire brigade, Police or Ambulance?"
Then the phone dies.
