LENNY'S POV
The Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne is nothing like how I imagined it.
We have walked through so many doors that I have lost count. As soon as we went through the very first door; the entrance, I saw flashing and cameras were shooting photos in our direction. My eyes were blinded by the flashes but I have come good.
May, Annica's mum told us that it is amazing we weren't found or caught by the police that found them. Four teenagers missing for three days, this has caused a lot of worry; especially by our parents. Abby, Milly, Annica and I are being led to a questioning room. I don't really know what to expect.**********************
"What happened when you woke up in the middle of the storm?" The police officer asks to no one in particular. Abby answers straight away, words flying out of her mouth. For me it seems like we have just spent ages explaining to May what happened so I am relieved Abby is doing all the talking.
Two tiring, exhausting hours later I wake up lying in what seems like a bed. Sitting up I realise I am in a bed, a hospital bed. Suddenly, before I can ask any questions a doctor rushes over and places a mask over my face and he tells me to take three deep breaths. Before I know what's happening I am falling into a deep sleep.
MAY'S POV
Butterfly's flutter throughout my stomach. All four teenagers are going through an operation right now for their colourblindness. A nurse is explaining to me what has happened but I am not really listening, I am just worried about Annica. I hear words from the nurse and I focus in. "This has happened once before, and all we could do was test different operations on the kids to see the result. They went through some horrible operations but what could we do, all we were trying to do was help them. Thankfully, now after nearly a year of testing we found one that would fix serious colourblindness. I assure you May, this operation is completely safe. It will be completed in about seventy minutes."
"T-t-thank you. " Is all I manage to say to the kind nurse. I must ring Scott (Lenny's Dad, he doesn't have a Mum), Ben (Annica's Dad, May's husband) Narelle and Jason (Milly's parents) and Annabelle and Tim (Abby's parents). So that's what I do.Four long phone calls later I am happy. All the parents sounded so relieved that I found the group but at the same time they were all very upset to find out their son/daughter had severe colourblindness, overall they were all really grateful and it made me feel happy. In about one hour Narelle is meeting me here and the other parents are coming soon after.
I realise I am sitting outside Annica's operation room.
I wonder how she is going? Will she be okay?ANNICA'S POV
Bright yellow lights shine right into my eyes. I quickly shut them again but then I suddenly realise something. Something has changed. Something BIG.
I can see colour! Squinting I look at my t-shirt. It is BLUE! Before I can register what has happened I am falling back to sleep, back to more operating. My t-shirt that I am looking at suddenly changes, going from blue to black then to blue to white. I nearly sit up in panic but then my head falls against my pillow and everything goes black.Hope you like this chapter. Please, please comment and vote. It means a lot and I'd love to know what you think. Thanks! ~minlovestoread
