CHAPTER TWO: SILENT SONGS

The first morning at Nevermore Academy started off different than what Ivory expected, but not at all a bad different. The blonde was awoken by a loud thump and her roommate laying on the floor, one foot clad in a knee high boot. As the two locked eyes, Ivory couldn't help the laugh that bubbled up in her chest. The sight of the raven girl laying on the floor after obviously tripping over herself, while putting on her shoes, was most definitely a sight for sore eyes.

"Are you okay?", the blonde asked, still cuddled into her blanket. If it wasn't for the girl's sleepy state, she would've probably been too nervous to talk to the other. Ivory didn't even blink properly before Yoko was on her feet again, dusting off her skirt and glancing at her roommate.

"See, this was all planned, I knew I'd get you to crack up. I'm just that good", Yoko announced with a proud look on her face, it was clear to Ivory though, that it was not planned at all. Yoko got back to dressing up as Ivory let out a yawn and made her way to the bathroom, she somehow liked the ravens humour.

Ivory got out of the bathroom after a quick shower and a change of clothes, just when Yoko was about to leave. The vampire stopped in her tracks and turned to her new roommate. She looked the blonde up and down, amused by the white summer dress that she decided to wear. Looking down at her own uniform, Yoko let out an unintentional chuckle.

"You don't have your uniform yet, hm??", Ivory just shook her head. The silence and not being talked to would usually annoy the raven, but with the blonde somehow, Yoko felt both amused and endeared.

"You fairies and your charms, damn. You're just like my brothers wife."

Ivory turned to the other girl and looked straight at her now, a curious expression on her face. Even though Ivory did not know much about this life, she was confused by the fact that a vampire and a fairy could get married. She expected there to be some kind of rule that forbids different creatures to be together or something, but then at the same time her mother married her father, so she let go of that thought.

"How do you know I'm...you know, a fairy?", the blonde asked shyly, which made Yoko roll her eyes.

"You're the first fairy in more than ten years, everyone knows, trust me. You're the star of the show. So, are you coming?", Yoko explained with a little smirk, before putting on her sunglasses. She motioned for the blonde to follow her out into the hall. As soon as they arrived at the big hall a girl with icy blonde hair and a big smile jumped up to the two, a smaller girl with pigtails and dressed in all black following behind. Before Ivory could react, the giddy girl wrapped her arms around the fairy.

"You must be Ivory. I heard a lot about you. I'm Enid, a werewolf, and this is Wednesday, she doesn't talk that much. But I'm happy to welcome you to Nevermore and oh my gosh, I love your dress. So cute. I hope we'll become good friends! I heard a lot about fairies", Yoko glanced down at the fairy and noticed her tensing up.

"Trust me, she talks less. Let's sit down, before she actually has a mental breakdown.", Yoko nudged Enid forward and the four sat down at a large table, soon enough a guy with a beanie joined them. Due to her anxiety, Ivory has always been a good observer, that's why she immediately noticed details like Wednesday not blinking, or Enid having heart eyes for the male. And just like that, Ivory realised she never checked her phone for any messages  from the guy she apparently had heart eyes for. Unbeknownst to her, Tyler was confused by the girl's sudden absence, he was accustomed to having her full attention and to instant replies, so when it was announced that Ivory Brooks had switched schools, the boy was determined to find out more.
