Silence overcame the quad when the sheriff barged in with some officers in tow and Ivory eyed them curiously. From her place by the fountain she had an overlook on all the shocked faces and Principal Weems didn't seem amused as she rushed over to him with a venomous smile.
"Can I ask what this is about, sheriff?", she asked and sent the man a look of disbelief when he walked past her, completely disregarding her question.
Ivory and her mother let out gasps when the sheriff pulled Wednesday's father out of his seat across the courtyard and handcuffed him, pulling him along and past the families, while the rest of the Addams family watched in horror.
The young fairy could feel her mother squeezing her shoulder, her father doing the same to his wife. Ivory and Xavier who was sitting besides her still, exchanged worried glances as the sheriff took off, leaving behind a courtyard full of shocked people.
Murmurs and gossip started to break through the silence like a knife cuts through skin and Ivory grimaced at the sight of a shaken up Principal Weems exchanging glances with Wednesday's mother, before grabbing the attention of the curious bystanders.
"The festivities will continue, this is nothing but a short disturbance. We have a lot more planned for today", the tall woman clapped her hands with a smile on her face, one Ivory could tell didn't reach her eyes, but as he Wednesday family rushed out, probably to follow the police officers to the station, most families have already continued their conversations.
"What the hell is going on at this school...", Alexandar spoke as he shook his head, the drama that continued to unfold throughout the day being a little too much for him.
His wife turned towards him with a tight-lipped smile, before she locked eyes with her daughter.
"Ivory, would you mind taking Xavier and finding your friends for a while? I need to talk to Larissa", she spoke and Ivory nodded right away. She stood up and Xavier followed shortly and as they were about to turn around, Ivory's father spoke up again.
"I can stay with them", he said and it sounded more like a question than a statement.
"Why do you think I married you, I need moral support", Marina joked, both teenagers chuckling along as a teasing smile found it's way onto her lips. Alexandar let out a breath before he leaned down to press a kiss to his wife's lips.
The two teens took this as their cue to leave the adults and it didn't take long for Enid and Yoko to join them, coming up with all kinds of random theories on the spot.
"Guys, guys c'mon, we have no idea what's going on", Xavier tried to argue, but fell on deaf ears as Enid continued voicing her thoughts, her words rushing out like a waterfall. Ivory couldn't concentrate on anything other than her mother's expression as she spoke to Principal Weems across the courtyard, it was similiar to the one Wednesday's mother wore and the blonde couldn't help but to find it suspicious. It seemed like the two knew a lot more than they led to believe.
Alexandar was brushing a comforting hand over his wife's back, keeping his eyes trained on her as she spoke to her old friend using big gestures. Ivory knew it meant her mother had a lot of stress and it made the girl worry, wondering what must've happened for all of them to be so tense.
