Part 13:

"Mayukh.. do me a favour... KILL ME..!!!" I hung up.. my vision got blurred....

I jerked up as I felt splashes of water on my face..!!! "Kakimoni.." Puchu was sitting beside me with a mug. "where did you learn this???" I asked pulling her in my lap... "Moviejjjj...." came her sweet voice. "Promise me Puchu you won't tell about this to anyone..." and gave her a chocolate bar..!!! I could not afford to let the family know about me.... their son... most importantly 'us'..!!!!

I tactfully skipped the supper by feeding Puchu!!! I too had to re-join my office form next day... He did call me at night but I didn't care to receive..!!! Or may be I was too tired and upset to listen to his taunts..!!! But was scaring me like hell was 'what's next..!!!".. Obviously, breaking off the marriage was certainly not an option for both the families had lots of hopes from us...!!! And I couldn't be so selfish..!! But I could not let this bitterness carry on too.. I had to talk to him..!!!  but.. any ways.. leave it..!!!

Morning sprinted soon.... my alarm screamed... and I jolted up..!!! A fresh morning, a fresh start...!!! Unlike last night supper, I couldn't skip breakfast, for Mamoni herself fed me!!! She even packed my lunch!! Though I constantly nagged her that I could always have the canteen food, but all fell into deaf ears.!!! I felt bad, for her...!!! how blindly she believed her son loved me... and she was taking care of his love.... well why wouldn't she believe....!!! I myself had started believing it..!!! anyways I left for my office..!!!

"good morning.. Mrs. Hiya..." "Roy.." I smiled and completed the sentenced... Rangon smiled too... well, yes..!! he is my colleague..!! and why not... we all got selected in the mass placement drive held by our college... most of the students were placed in this company..!!!  but with time, many of them left... some for better oppurtunities.. some for further studies... some even left the country..!!! even my college besties Rafi and Madhu had left... no.. unlike movies they didn't get together.. but like untold 'college love story' rules.. they broke up!!! Whatever.... back to the present... Rangon couldn't attend my wedding for he was on a long tour.. so he did not whom I got married to..He was no more that creepy..!! now, he was pretty tolerable and into a steady relationship with one of our colleagues, Trisha.. On personal notes, I and Rangon did not share any friendship but we did maintain a good professional relation. The whole day passed pretty uneventful but tiring..!!! 

As I was back from a long leave I needed to go through the recent files first..!! our new clients, pending projects, deadlines.. everything had to be gone through..!! Trisha has been quiet a support for me all this time, for she has been mailing me all the stuffs so that I could do atleast some work from home..!! finally the office hour got over.. I took another hour and then left for home.

I was in the kitchen stirring the soup for thammi when Churni barged in, "boudi (BHABHI) where's your phone???". "in my room. You need it???" I asked back.. "na... dadabhai was asking for you.. you reached home safely or not.." she replied... hypocrite..!!!!! bloody hypocrite..!!! but suddenly my heart saw a ray a hope. "Churni... you mean your dada finally spoke to you????" but only to find her in teary eyes... shit.. I should not have asked this..!! "he will never speak to me..." she murmured and left... Chauvinist..!!! who was in favour of on engineers..!!! who thought career meant only engineering..!!!! and those top ranks..!!! now I see... I am not getting any special treatment.. It was always his choice.. his decisions.. his dislikes.. his revenge..!!! the guy who doesn't speaks to his only sister for five years just cause she chose journalism over engineering,  how can I even expect that he will be at peace with me..!!!! Churni.. I will return your dada to you.. I don't know how will I do this, but I will surely do so...!!! I pledged to myself...

I was making my bed when my phone rang... "Hiyuuuu......" he sang.... "cut the crap, and come to the point..!! I am ready for your insults Mr. Mayukh Roy".. I curtly replied...  for I knew that was exactly he was going to do...!!! "Hiyu... I love you.. you know na..." he retorted... this wasn't anything surprising for me anymore... I laughed at his words.. "are you like... psycho????" I laughed harder... "I really do..." he snorted... "your revenge is done Mayukh... you married me... developed a feeling in my heart.. and left me... congratulations..!!! you succeeded very well.."

I groaned fighting my tears back.. but he had promised not to give me any peace of mind..!!! "so you accept finally.. that you have a soft corner for me..." he chukled... "that does not change my thinking about you my dear husband... I hate you..." I yelled.. but he coolly chipped "had you accepted this three years back.. had you not left me that day... today... today we would be man and wife... I mean not just on papers.. but literally..." and his words made me dis-balanced and I fell on the bed..!!!! "alas...!! Mayukh... it was you.. all because of you... and the reality is... we are not 'man and wife'.. we are married roomies"..!!!!  and a tear rolled down....
