Truth or Dare

"Truth."

"Harrington, you can't keep picking truth."

"Why not?"

Dustin rolled his eyes and groaned – his brilliant idea wasn't going as well as he thought it would. He had managed to get Lucas to eat a worm, Steve to tell us that he liked Helena, and Robin to kiss Cristina.

Eddie leaned farther back into my lap, humming happily as I braided his hair. I kissed the top of his head, smiling at his good mood. He had cheered up since the moment by the lake – the tent definitely helped, but being around everyone, teasing his friends, and enjoying the trip had made him feel better.

"Because it's lame to just pick truth! Quit being a bitch!"

"Dustin!" I snapped. He blanched and smiled nervously.

"He's being a wimp, Y/N!" he insisted, trying to defend himself. I rolled my eyes and Eddie laughed at Dustin's critique of Steve. I shook my head.

"You still don't need to say things like that," I replied. He groaned and rolled his eyes.

"This is lame," Dustin whined. Alan sighed.

"I forgot about the age difference – not always appropriate to dare the little kids with what you would dare the big kids with," Alan quipped. I laughed and smiled at him as he shrugged at Cristina and took a swig of his beer. Dustin snapped his head to Eddie.

"Eddie, truth or dare?"

"Dare," Eddie replied, not missing a beat.

"I dare you to go streaking in the lake," Dustin said, just as quickly.

"Dustin Michael –" I started. Eddie stood suddenly, groaning from his injuries. My jaw dropped. "Eddie, what are you doing?"

"It's a dare, I have to do it," he answered simply. I looked at him, incredulous.

"You're joking."

"No, I'm Eddie," he teased. I hated that joke – he knew I hated that joke.

"Alright, Munson!" Robin cheered. I looked around the group.

"What is it with everyone encouraging my boyfriend's terrible ideas?" I asked. Helena laughed at me and shook her head.

"Why don't you join him, Y/N?" she asked, teasing me. I flushed. Eddie scoffed.

"Absolutely not," Eddie snapped. I looked at him, still shocked.

"Excuse me?" I replied. He flushed and cleared his throat.

"You're not going streaking – that's ridiculous," he retorted. I raised an eyebrow and stood.

"And it's not ridiculous if you do it?" I started away from the fire, walking backwards.

"Holy shit, is Y/N going streaking?" Mike asked too eagerly. I pointed to Dustin.

"All little ones close their eyes and stay here," I ordered before racing off.

"God damn it, Y/N!" Eddie screeched. I looked over my shoulder and saw Eddie chasing after me, and I laughed as he called out to me. Alan, Robin, and Cristina were behind him, laughing hysterically at Eddie's attempt to catch me.

I started peeling my clothes off, tossing them to the side as I ran down the hill towards the lake. I reached the water's edge and waded in, turning back towards the figures running at me and dipping my shoulders below the water. Eddie had gathered my clothes on his way down and set his hands on his hips.

"Y/N – get out of the water."

"You sure are dressed for someone who was dared to go streaking," I teased, wading further out into the lake. Robin, Cristina, and Alan caught up to him, still laughing hard and leaning into each other.
