Lorena's POV
"Miss Lorena? I'm so.....Miss Lorena your mo......Miss Lorena!" I sighed loudly before glaring at Carrie the chief maid. "Your mother requested to see you." I moved my hands from the piano keys lazily.
"Did she say why?" I asked.
"I believe it's about your cousin's baby shower tomorrow." She said.
"Tell her I'll be busy in the office." I instructed before turning to the grand piano in front of me. I stopped my hands mid air when I noticed Carrie wasn't moving. "Why are you still here?"
"Because I was ordered to make sure you come to the patio or I'd lose my job." I giggled shaking my head.
"Tell her I'm in my room. Asleep." She sighed.
"You are the only one who plays the piano in this house Miss Lorena." Oh right. "Please don't make her fire me. Just go to her. Please" The poor woman begged.
"Fine, fine I'll go. I don't even know why you guys are afraid of my mother's threats. She never fires anyone anyway." I stood up and went to my mother. "You asked to see me." I said sitting down.
"Yes, have you prepared for tomorrow?"
"I can't make it, I'll be in the office." I said.
"Nonsense. Your father said you could miss a day of work." I screamed internally.
"Okay fine, I don't feel like attending mother can you drop it now?" She looked at me dumbfounded.
"Lorena this is Ronda we are talking about, your cousin."
"So?" She gasped.
"Did you two fight?"
"No" I poured myself a glass of her drink.
"Then what is your problem?"
"My problem is always you mother. You're always forcing me to do what you like."
"You like Ronda and I was just innocently trying to help you."
"Help me?"
"With a suit and maybe someone for your makeup. Did you even get her something? I bet you didn't." I took a deep breath.
"I got her something but I was going to give it to her tomorrow night, after everyone had left because I don't want to be your show off to your fellow housewives." I said.
"Is this what this tantrum is about? You're upset that I'm a proud mother?"
"You are delusional." I let out a light laugh.
"I am your mother and you will not use such words when referring to me." Her tone took dominance and I immediately backed down. She knew it would work since it always did everytime.
"Whatever." I mumbled to myself.
"I do get it you know. You're old enough to not be told what to do but every time you always prove me right. I'm right when I say you still need to be told what to do." I looked at her and scoffed before shaking my head. "You know what your problem is?"
"No mother I don't but please do enlighten me." I said sarcastically.
"You my dear daughter don't get that you are not just anyone's daughter. You are a Yearwood and a Fitzroy, we all have a standard to live up to." I scoffed.
"Riiiiight. I'm the only daughter of Mrs Yearwood! The one and only most richest housewife in the country." She sighed shaking her head.
"You think this is funny?"
"I think you have to convince father to let me go. We both know you don't have a problem with me officially moving out." I shrugged.
"Because you are old enough to take care of yourself but you will never be too old for me to be your mother weather you like it or not." She said sternly.
"You and I have different definitions of the word mother." I said.
"Lorena why are you so stubborn when it comes to me? You don't do this with your father."
"Ah, let's see. Because father never uses me to show off on his friends that he has the most perfect daughter? And even sometimes lies about skills I don't even have?" She rolled her eyes.
"Every mother does that, it's no big deal. In fact you'll understand when you have your own kids." She giggled. "Which reminds me, when are you planning on reproducing?"
"I don't want kids." I mumbled to myself but she heard me.
"You're kidding right?" She giggled. "What? Are you afraid you'll have one that will turn out like you?" She laughed again.
"It's not that." I sipped my drink again.
"Wait a minute, you look distressed. Do you really not want kids?" I kept quiet. "How come I didn't know this?"
"Because according to you everything I say is not what a true Yearwood would say."
"That's not true, you know I listen to you all the time. We may not agree with each most of the time but I always listen to you when you have something bothering you." That's true.
My mother and I have a weird relationship. We're both stubborn and argue most of the time but deep down I know she loves me. She might be a control freak but she does it with everyone and we're kind of used to her. I'm just the only one in our family who always challenges her.
"Mother I've been thinking about me being a parent a lot off late. I don't think I'm cut out to be one you know?"
"No I don't know." I looked at her.
"What do you mean you don't? I still live with my parents at twenty nine and you expect me to have kids?" She chuckled and opened her mouth to speak but stopped herself. She smiled and then stood up from her seat.
"Okay come with me, let me take you somewhere."
"Are we going to a place where you can finally murder me?" She chuckled and I joined in on the laughter.
"Stop being silly Lorena, come on." She started walking to a direction I couldn't figure out where it was headed yet. I followed behind nonetheless.
Kim's POV
"Elaine, I don't feel comfortable with what you brought." She waved me off while I looked at myself in the mirror.
"Don't be silly, you look sexy in that dress." I sighed.
"It's a baby shower, why do I need to look sexy?" I asked.
"Kimberly you're not going to any baby shower, it's Logan Hall and Ronda Fitzroy, well now Hall but point is these are important people. And they are having their first baby so you need to look the part at their party especially since a lot of rich ladies will be there." She said adjusting the dress.
"I am not going if you're making me wear this." She glared at me.
"Do you know how stressful it was getting this dress? You are going to that party and you are wearing that tomorrow. Period." My eyes widened at her tone.
"Geez where did that come from?"
"Doubt yourself and your amazing body again and I will do worse. I don't even get why beautiful people with sexy bodies always feel insecure." She said.
"Before you turn into a motivational speaker on me, I'll take the damn dress. Happy?" She giggled. "Now leave my house." She laughed taking her bag.
"Don't forget your makeup artist will be hear at seven and your driver will be here at ten."
"I have my own car."
"Logan's instructions not mine. See ya." She rushed out when her phone rang and I giggled. This girl is always in a hurry.
