"Is the helper doing everything you want?" I asked my grandfather while having dinner with him.

"She's very helpful, Sapphire." He said.

"You know, it is kind of weird whenever you call me that." I told him.

"It's your name from your own mother." He defended

"I know, but I'm used to everybody calling me Lorena. My whole life, I've been called that." I explained, and he sighed.

"It's just that I......" he sighed again. "You remind me of her." He took a sip of his wine.

It was silent for a moment as neither of us knew what to say, I guess.

"What was she like as a child?" I finally broke the dreadful silence.

"Your mother?" He smiled, and I nodded. "Very hardworking. You see, from a very young age, she would love helping out in chores, but since she was still a kid and couldn't do things right, she'd mess everything up. So your grandmother came up with this idea one day that she should paint. She was happy about that but instead of giving her paint we'd give her a bucket of water and a paint brush." We both burst out laughing.

"Water?" I asked in between laughs.

"Yes, water. She actually believed she was painting." I laughed again.

"She must have been very young." He nodded.

"She was about three." He responded, and I nodded. "Growing up and going to school, she was a bit of everything. She loved music a lot, though. Funny, she never thought she would be a good musician she only thought a good career for her was working at a hospital, either as a doctor or a nurse." He sighed. "But that didn't happen." He whispered.

I took a deep breath, letting the new information sink in. I thought about my love for piano. I loved and how calm I get whenever I hear the music coming from it, knowing my hands made that, but I never saw it as a career, just a hobby. Maybe that's how she felt as well.

"My parents are coming back in a week." I told him. "I would appreciate it if you would agree to see them."

"I...." I cut in before he finished whatever he wanted to say.

"You don't have to respond right now. You can think about it." I told him.

"Okay."

"Thank you."

....

KIM'S POV

My doorbell rang in the morning, waking me up from my sleep. I frowned and woke up from my bed, headed to the door, cursing at the person behind the door. I opened the door widely, irritation evident on my face.

"Hi," Lorena greeted.

"Hi," I greeted back.

"Can I come in?" To say I was surprised to see her would be an understatement. It was very early in the morning and she's already at my door? "Kimberly?" I sighed and then nodded.

"Sure," I let the door open, and she followed behind me to the kitchen. I grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge and then drank some.

"I'm sorry for waking you up." She looked apologetic on her face.

"Must've been important." I said.

"Actually, I wanted to catch you before you eat breakfast." Her eyes wandered to my clothes, scanning my body as if she was stripping me off my silk night dress. I immediately tighed my robe, hoping she stopped staring. Her lips curved into a smirk instead.

I cleared my throat. "Why would you want to catch me before breakfast?" I asked curiously, although in my head I wondered if she was planning on eating breakfast with me.

"Because I wanted to take you out for breakfast." I knew it!

"I think it's too early for breakfast. What time is it anyway?" I thought of my phone, but I had left it in my room.

"It's actually after seven, so I think it's the right time for breakfast. Plus, you still have to take a shower or change, and that will take time." I chuckled.

"Trying to convince me, huh?" She smiled.

"I think you're already convinced." She winked, making me blush. "So I will wait for you over there." She pointed at my couch, making me chuckle again.

"Aren't you supposed to be even at work?" I asked.

"I'm my own boss Kimberly." She said with a proud smile. I lifted my hands in surrender, making us both giggle.

....

"This is a beautiful place." I said, sitting down. "Thank you." I told her for opening after she pulled a chair for me to sit.

"It's an old place, actually. Built in the early 90s." She said, taking her seat.

"It still looks new." I said, looking around the restaurant. Most of everything was made of glass and the view of the city made it a little more luxurious because the restaurant was on a mountain and from here you could see the beautiful city. I noticed the place was empty. It was as if we were the only ones in there.

"Well, it was recently renovated. That's why I brought you here. I wanted us to have the first experience of their service before they officially open again." She smiled.

"You booked the whole place just for us?" I asked, surprised and she smiled.

"Yes, my lady." I blushed. My heart actually melted at her effort to make me feel special. I could see now that she was serious about really asking for a chance to be with me.

"You're taking this seriously, aren't you Miss Yearwood?" She chuckled, showing her perfect smile.

"I have to. You need to see how much you mean to me, Kimberly. I really want you to see that I'm here to stay." Her face told me how sincere she was.

"No more disappearing, and you mean it when you say you really want to be with someone like me?" I asked.

"Someone like you?"

"Your family's status is far different from mine. That's what I......"

"None of those things matter to me. Kimberly, this is about us, not our parents. You make me happy. You bring me peace. I want you irregardless of where you come from." I broke into a smile.

"Okay." I whispered, and she took my hand and kissed it. "I'll be yours."
