A few weeks later
Kim's POV
I closed the door behind me after getting in my house. The flight from home was exhausting, it's only a four hour flight but I guess it was exhausting because I wasn't ready to come back to New York.
"Kim!" Laura said to me coming from the hallway excitedly and delighted to see me. "Why didn't you tell me you'd be coming back early, I would have picked you up from the airport."
"You didn't get back to my calls, I wanted to tell you I had a change of plans."
"Oh gosh! I'm so sorry, I was at a concert last night so I have been sleeping the whole day." She explained while helping me with the luggage to the living room. Upon reaching we sat down.
"It's okay, I booked myself an Uber and luckily the driver wasn't late." I said to her.
"That's good, so how is our little sister and the lovebirds?" I chuckled
"Everybody is fine, they just miss you." I told her and she nodded."
"So what made you change your plans? You weren't supposed to be here in like a week." I nodded.
"Well I have a date tonight." Her eyes widened.
"A date?" I nodded. "So let me get this straight. You're finally moving on? Like bye bye Lorena?"
"It's time I put myself first Laura. The last time I was me and free and happy was with Paige and that was probably a decade ago." I sighed. "Yes I was starting to feel that happiness again with Lorena but our worlds are different. She doesn't seem like the type to commit or just stay for long. Plus she's my boss." Laura took my hand in hers. "So I have decided to find myself a man to be happy with."
"A man?" She crooked her eyebrow and I giggled.
"A woman too but my first date is with a man." She nodded.
"Where did you find this guy and what is his name?"
"We actually met at the airport when I left for home. Remember the guy I literally bumped into?"
"Oh yeah you told me about that. He even broke your phone but he fixed it right?"
"Yeah he actually bought a new one luckily there was a nearby istore. So he was coming back from a business trip that day and while we were at the store we started talking and a little bit of getting to know each other and then eventually we exchanged numbers. We'll the rest is pretty obvious."
Does he seem good?"
"He's actually nice. You'd love him." She smiled.
"Well all I can say is I'm glad you're no longer thinking about Lorena because after her disappearing stunt she doesn't deserve you."
"We weren't actually dating you know." I told her.
"It doesn't matter you had sex." I rolled my eyes.
"Can you stop reminding me that?" She laughed.
"I was just saying." She stood up. "Now let's find you an outfit for tonight." She said excitedly. I laughed while following her to my bedroom.
Lorena's POV
After I found my mother's side of the family everything changed. I bonded with my grandfather, I met his other family and I also moved him from his place to only where I and a few people I trusted knew.
