Kim's POV

"I have your room set up you have nothing to worry about." I told Laura.

"Oh really?"

"Yeah and I really hope you will like it because I put a lot of effort into making it beautiful for you." She giggled over the phone.

"Thanks Kim. I'll be there tomorrow."

"Okay just call me when you get here okay?" I told her.

"I know where your house is Kim." She laughed.

"Oh right. I'll let the front desk people to let you in before I leave for work."

"Thank you." She said just as I heard a knock on the door. I immediately thought of Lorena. She's the only one who'd knock at this time.

"Gotta go sis, someone's at my door." I told her.

"Okay, can't wait to see you. Love ya."

"Love you too, bye." I hung up and went to open the door. I checked the time before touching the doorknob. 10:11pm. I opened the door and I was right.

"Hi" she smiled sheepishly.

"Hey."

"I um....I brought you dinner." I finally noticed the bag in her hand.

"Oh thanks." There was an awkward silence between us just staring at each other. I cleared my throat. "Um, do you want to come in?"

"Yeah." She gave me the bag and then bent to take something from behind her. I looked at her confused until she turned around with an overnight bag. "I don't know if this is okay with you but I thought you wouldn't mind if I came with my own stuff to change into whenever I'm here."

"Oh" I looked at her bag and surely it wasn't just a one night kinda bag. There were probably a week's outfits in there. "Yeah sure. I don't mind, there's a lot of space in this house." I said.

"Thank you so much." She let out a breath of relief.

We walked into the house and she closed the door behind her.

"So do you usually have late dinner or you're just trying to be nice?" I asked her and she smiled.

"I actually haven't had dinner tonight but I'm not usually a late dinner kind of person." She explained.

"Right." I said taking some plates out. "You can put your stuff in the room."

"Okay." She did that and I watched her walk away. Damn. The way she moved had that dominance to it. I shook my head immediately I realised I was checking my boss out.

"Get it together Kim, she's your fucking boss." I told myself.

Lorena came back and we had dinner. I was still curious about what was really bothering her. She might be looking tough and all on the outside but she was still visibly hurting on the inside in my eyes. I for one was someone who knew how to hide pain, learnt that when I was still married to Logan so I knew when someone else was in pain but was hiding it.

"You're staring." She said.

"I'm sorry. I didn't realise." I said dismissively.

"What are you thinking about Kimberly?"

"I don't want to make you feel uncomfortable, it's nothing." She pushed her food aside and leaned back on her chair.

"No, I want to hear it." I looked into her eyes and she nodded.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"What do you mean?" I sighed.

"First night you came here you wanted to kill yourself and I instantly knew something was wrong but for days now you've been finding it better sleeping here than at home, with your family. I can't help but think the problem is at home." She shrugged.
