Paige's POV

I walked majestically around the house looking at the walls, bored shitless.

So my wife got invited to one of the Anders' family friend's baby shower. I believe she is Kiara's close friend.

Unfortunately something came up at the office and now I had to show up for her. Perks of being married. Now I was in a boring party of an unborn baby and everyone is dressed like they are in a gala or something.

The rich ladies bragging about what they own was the worst part of this experience. I looked at my watch and realised I've only been here for twenty three fucking minutes.

Aaghhhh! I turned, headed to the bar to grab a more stronger drink only to bump into someone.

"Hey!" I recognised the voice immediately before even looking up. I chuckled when I saw who it was. "Oh Paige, it's you."

"What are you even doing here Lorena?" She fixed her sweet pink suit. It had a deep v-line showing her cleavage. "I know these aren't your kind of parties."

"I could say the same thing about you." She smirked.

"I have a wife, that's my excuse."

"And I have a mother whose word goes." We both burst out laughing. "Plus Ronda is my cousin, you already know." I nodded.

"Fair enough." I said in between laughs. "You have been very scarce off late."

"Although it's a lame excuse but I've been caught up in the office." She explained.

"I thought you hated your job, when did that change?"

I've known Lorena for like five years now. We first met at a mutual friend's gala and we connected immediately.

Ever since I got married to Hailey, all the friends I have now, are wealthy and connected people. That's the only good thing about rich people. Connections, and I meet them all at these big events.

"A few months ago." She said dismissively. Something must have happened, I could feel it.

"You-" she cut me off her eyes focussing behind me.

"Oh. My. God!" She almost choked on her drink. "Damn" She whispered. I chuckled shaking my head. She must be seeing a beautiful woman. "Okay I'll be right back." She quickly rushed to the other direction and I didn't bother to look where because my eyes were only for my beautiful wife so instead I continued to the bar.

I ordered my drink and sat there going through my phone.

Flashback

"Why am I doing this again?" I asked my wife over the phone.

"Baby you promised you'd go." I sighed.

"Yeah but I could have done with a simple suit or dress. Not going full glam for an unborn kid's party." My wife laughed over the phone.

"Ronda is known to be the best themed party thrower. She doesn't do simple honey." She explained.

"The more you describe the woman to me the more I want to just ask someone else to go for you. Baby you know I am not a glitz and glam kinda person." She sighed. "Hailey did you even see this dress that was tailored for me? It's too much. I don't even understand if I'm going to the met gala or a stupid baby shower." Hailey laughed.

"Paige stop complaining please. The dress is beautiful. I love it for you." I rolled my eyes while someone knocked on my door.

"That must be Susan." I said opening the door. "Hi."

"Good morning Mrs Finley." I smiled.

"Baby I have to go. Susan wants to do her magic on my face." She giggled.

"Okay, love you honey. And thank you for going." I smiled.

"Love you too baby."

End of flashback

"Damn she's hot." I chuckled.

"Who are you even talking about?" I asked searching the crowd of women.

"Her." She pointed to a different direction than the one I was looking at. My eyes immediately spotted my ex. Kimberly. I blinked to make sure I wasn't hallucinating or something.

What is she doing here?

"Uh oh she's coming." I looked at a smiling Lorena. Was she being serious?

"Paige?" I looked next to me to see Kim.

"You know her? Oh right, you're supposed to know her. She's the fa-"

"Lorena." She looked at me. "We know each other from college." I turned back to Kim. "Hi Kim." She smiled.

"Nice to see you again. When Lorena said she was with a friend, I didn't think it was you until I saw who she was talking to." I nodded.

"Okay I'm curious, when you say college...... do you mean college college? As in more than what? Ten years ago?" Kim laughed at Lorena.

"Precisely." I stated.

"Oh." Lorena said dismissively gulping her drink. I noticed a photographer looking our way.

"Excuse me ladies." I quickly went to the bathroom. The last thing I need is a photo of me and Kim being posted. My phone rang once I was in the hallway. "Hey sweetie."

"Mom there's something you need to know." Gray said quickly, panicking over the phone. "I-I-I-I I don't know wha- I didn't-"

"Whoa! Calm down. What's going on? Where are you?"

"School." He said nervously. Thank Goodness he's still in school.

"Okay I'm on my way."

"Grayson Anders! Principal's office now!" I heard a woman yell over the phone. He's definitely in trouble. I hung up and turned on my heels headed to the door.

Kim's POV

"Kimberly!" Ronda squealed rushing to me. She attacked me with a hug. "So glad you could make it."

"Thank you for inviting me."

"Are you kidding me? You're Logan's best friend so I'd never leave you out." She laughed but I cringed.

Best friend?

"Yeah." I smiled. "You look amazing by the way." She blushed.

"Awwww. You are so sweet Kimberly, thank you. You look sexy yourself." I smiled. Right, Elaine.

"Thank you." Lorena came back with my drink. After Paige excused herself Lorena suggested we take a tour around the mansion but offered to get me a drink first.

"Here you go." I took it.

"Thanks." I smiled and she smiled back. I took the glass to my lips quickly breaking the staring.

"Oh I see you've my cousin." I choked on my drink when Ronda blurted out.

"Are you okay?" Lorena asked quickly. I coughed a little and cleared my throat.

"Yeah I'm fine." I cleared my throat again.

"Are you sure?" Ronda asked.

"Yeah, did you say cousin?" I asked.

"Yeah. You didn't know?" I chuckled nervously. Right. Lorena has relatives everywhere. She's now even friends with my fucking ex.

"No um, not really." I sipped my champagne.

"Ronda!" I heard a woman whom I learned was her mother called her.

"Okay gotta go but I'll be back ladies." I nodded.

"Okay, now that she's gone, can we take the tour?" I frowned at Lorena.

"Why didn't you tell me she's your cousin?" I asked.

"You didn't ask." She started walking. "Come on." I sighed following behind.
