Chapter Eighteen || Death was Kind

(Dream's pov)
!!Major violence and blood!!
-Six years ago-

Prince Wilbur had just left his house when XD had given him a hug. XD had left when is work called to him, leaving Dream alone in the living room with his thoughts.

Among those thoughts, one stood out. I need to find Sapnap and George, it said, they deserve a proper explanation. Dream took a few deep breaths before putting on his dark green cloak and boots, and exiting his house silently.

The first thing Dream noticed was the silent, empty streets. No soul was seen in Dream's field of view, so ignoring the obvious signs of danger, he continued on into the town.

Oh, how he shouldn't have.

Dream ventured past the silent streets and into the more eerily silent main part of Essempi, he looked around anxiously, before spotting one single soul at the local forge.

Dream ran towards him, Jamie was the blacksmith apprentice and was running the shop currently. He was a bat hybrid, he stared at Dream with a slight glare.

"Jamie! Do- do you know where Sapnap and George are?" Dream had asked nervously, the apprentice's eyes narrowed slightly before nodding. "Yes. Yes, I do." The bat hissed, causing Dream to stumble back.

"Would you like me to show you where they are?" He asked with clearly fake kindness, Dream nodded. "Yes, please. I wanted to explain what happened- how I was sorry." Dream agreed with a quick nod. Jamie scoffed quietly in response, setting off more red flags in Dream's head.

But Jamie would never hurt him! He'd known Jamie ever since he was three! They were in the same classes at school and extracurriculars! Jamie would never hurt him.

Or so he thought.

Jamie set his tongs down and set off with Dream in tow, he led Dream off the main road and into the forest- causing Dream to pause.

"Jamie?" He asked hesitantly, "Where- where are we going?" He asked again, Jamie clenched his hands into fists. "Towards your friends, Dream." He answered stiffly.

"Maybe- maybe I should look for them on my own? I'll go do that, actually-" Dream began walking back, but only when Jamie chased after him did he start running.

Dream yelped in fear as Jamie lunged for him, Dream began sprinting back, he screamed in fear when Jamie snatched the back of cloak harshly. "You're coming with me, traitor." The bat hissed, Dream screamed again, "George! SAPNAP! HELP!" He yelled desperately as Jamie began dragging him.

His screams were cut off as the cloak pushed painfully against his throat, he choked before hoarsely yelling out and trying to get the cloak off. Jamie kept a tight grip though and continued to drag Dream through the woods.

Twigs scraped and scratched at him painfully as he attempted to yell and get away, tears grew in his eyes as he flailed and struggled to get away. Jamie never hesitated though.

After what felt like hours of pain, Dream was flung to the ground. He yelled in pain as gravel dug into his hand and knees, he looked around to see that he was surrounded by five villagers.

Dream crawled back painfully when he saw the village leaders, head blacksmith, and even the friendly tailor towering and glaring at him from above. Dream whimpered fearfully.

"Dream WasTaken." The Village Head sneered from above him, "You've disrespected our kind Royals and was rude to our lost prince. You showed violence towards him as well!" She hissed as she snipped the scissors in her hands.

"And the Royals didn't even punish you properly! You got off freely- but that won't slide with us." The Village Head- Mary, was her name- hissed violently as she raised her scissors. Dream's eyes widened as he screamed when she slashed them down violently.
