Strange things have been happening in Karl's room.

Everyone in the castle staff, guard, even visitors and the royal family noticed. Bright yellow flashes were appearing from the cracks of the door in late hours of the night and even during the day. Karl had been writing in his notebook more often and had been looking significantly more tired.

No one asked him about it, of course, but they began growing wary of the human that often asked for people's names, despite having met them before. He often asked who people were when they were mentioned and he zoned out much more often.

He'd also been growing closer to Sapnap and Quackity, the three were quite good friends and were fine with the reminders and corrections for Karl in case he forgot something, though it was never too major.

Karl thought he was doing good in the castle, everyone, despite being wary of him, seemed to warm up to him more. He was receiving less glares, he'd noticed.

So Karl woke up with excitement, sure, there was a war going on with the humans right now, and sure, his new friends were at a risk of going- but he finally felt like he had a place somewhere in this strange world!

He quickly got changed and took a shower and ate something- he had food on his desk for some reason?- before opening his journal and uncapping one of his pens when Sapnap burst into his room.

"Karl!" His face looked... ecstatic. Karl slammed his journal shut. "Sapnap! You didn't kn-" Karl tried scolding Sapnap, but the blaze interrupted him as his orange eyes wandered the room, "Yeah, yeah, so sorry for that- but you need to see this!" Sapnap interrupted excitedly.

Karl giggled at the blaze's excitement but attached the notebook to his belt and stood to walk over to Sapnap anyway, not noticing Sapnap's blush.

"Lead the way then!" Karl insisted and held out his hand, Sapnap grinned and grabbed hand before bolting down the hall. Karl laughed as he barely kept up with Sapnap, but the two eventually burst outside to the bridge and Sapnap led him to and edge of the bridge.

Karl noticed that it was a beautiful day out with a cloudless sky, multiple avians and other winged hybrids were flying. Including a familiar golden duck hybrid and crow hybrid.

Karl also saw Prince Wilbur doing barrels in the sky with Technoblade on his back, screaming at Wilbur stop before he falls again.

"What's so special about this, Sapnap? It's cool to see people flying but they do this almost everyday!" Karl asked confusedly, Sapnap grinned and gestured to someone a few feet away.

It was Prince Tommy, he was wearing a plain white tunic with longer sleeves and tan pants with red boots with white trim. His crown was like Prince Wilbur's, a circlet but made of gold instead of silver and rubies instead of topaz. He had aviator goggles as well.

And then Karl noticed it.

A pair of bright red wings on Tommy's back, glistening in the sun with lighter feathers at the top of his wings and darker feathers at the bottom. The wings were shifting nervously, as if he didn't know how to hold them. Karl gasped and grinned.

"Prince Tommy!" Karl yelled in greeting, the blond prince jumped before turning to Karl. The human was running towards him and waving excitedly with Sapnap chasing behind him.

"You have wings now! Congratulations!" Karl cheered once he was close by Tommy, still grinning excitedly. Tommy laughed nervously.

"Thank you, Karl. They hurt like a bitch to get though." Tommy said before finishing in a grumbling tone, "Techno nearly pushed me off a ledge as well! 'Said that's how real birds learn." Tommy added with a laugh.
