Chapter Four || Outside the Castle

Karl awoke from his peaceful rest later than normal, it was a dreamless sleep so he was happy to be able to stay in bed longer.

He eventually stood up and stretched out his back before walking into the closet and getting changed into similar clothing but with a lavender tunic instead of the green sweater, he added his purple cloak as well.

Karl walked out of the closet and his room and into the hallway to see Sapnap already down the hall, he appeared to have already been walking towards Karl's room.

Sapnap waved to Karl and walked towards him, grinning with excitement. "I got permission to take you to the market!" He informed Karl happily, "King Philza believes that you should be able to find new clothes and other items if you'll be staying awhile." Sapnap added.

Karl smiled back while feelings of nervousness and confusion crawled up his throat, "That's great! But..." his smile fell as he trailed off, Sapnap's eyes filled with concern as the other went on, "I only have human coins, and I'd hate to see you spending money on me." Karl said and looked down.

"Yes, I was about to tell you about that." Sapnap said with a nod, "Philza is sending Princes Wilbur and Technoblade with us in hopes of discovering more about you whilst keeping you protected." Sapnap explained, Karl nodded with understanding. The princes seemed nice, he guessed. Prince Tommy sounded a bit... chaotic, but the elder Princes seemed to be calm yet kind.

"Well," Karl began, "We shouldn't keep the Princes waiting." Sapnap nodded and gestured for Karl to follow as he led him down the hall and to the front entrance of the castle.

Karl was thankful for Sapnap to be there, the winding halls would've definitely confused him if he tried navigating them on his own.

Soon enough, Karl and Sapnap were at the front gates where a pair of familiar pink and brown haired princes waited, Prince Techno was wearing a thick red cloak with the hood on and his braided hair over his shoulder while Wilbur wore his royal cloak and a topaz circlet, both appeared to be arguing as they approached.

"Are you trying to scare the human? You look terrifying!" Prince Wilbur whisper-yelled at Prince Techno, the piglin, in response, just stared at Wilbur.

"The human probably won't judge what I wanted to wear in order to be able to go outside without people gawking at me like I'm dead." He responded calmly, "Chill out for once, we're just going to a market." Prince Techno added with a sigh as he noticed the two approaching in the distance.

When Karl and Sapnap were close enough to the royals, both bowed, "Your highnesses." They spoke in unison, Prince Wilbur told them to rise as Sapnap grinned at Karl, he found the unison funny while the twins found it unsettling.

"Thank you for agreeing with your father to take us, I understand most in your kingdom would be unsettled by my presence." Karl thanked and bowed his head politely, Prince Wilbur and Techno exchanged glances before the younger twin spoke up.

"It's quite alright, Karl, our father believed it would make things less... tense if we accompanied you two." Wilbur responded in a princely voice, it was then Techno's turn to speak.

"And there's no need to be so formal, save that for the council and war meetings." Prince Techno said and waved a hand dismissively, Karl looked a bit shocked before smiling softly. "Thank you." He whispered.

Before anyone could comment on it, Sapnap spoke up, "Well, we should probably get going if we want to be done by late afternoon." He spoke up knowing Karl wouldn't want to answer anymore questions, Karl gave him a thankful look for that.
