Karl woke up the next morning feeling refreshed from the previous day, he sat up and stretched before standing up and checking the time on his watch.
It read '5:57am' which Karl decided was early enough to get up and keep moving, just in case they caught up with him.
Karl quickly got his cloak and boots back on before putting his goggles on and walking out the door of the inn room, he walked down the hall and into the front entrance where he saw Bad.
Karl walked over to the desk and handed the key back to Bad. Karl noticed that his hands shook a little as he grabbed it, and that his smile was strained.
"Thank you for letting me stay Bad." Karl said with a smile, the demon blinked in surprise as Karl explained, "Normally people get turned away if they come in at the time that I came in at."
"Oh, um, you're welcome Karl jacobs." Bad said in surprise, "Safe travels." He said before muttering something beneath his breath.
It confused Karl a bit but he said goodbye before leaving the inn.
The streets were empty, except for the few people that were on their way, to what Karl assumed, work.
He was a little worried about the town that he'd discovered, every single person he'd seen so far had either ears, horns, a tail. Where were the humans?
Karl shook that thought away and assumed that he'd see some soon. He saw that the sun was just beginning to rise over the snowy mountains and walked down the street again.
He arrived at the gates half an hour later, he quickly looked back at the town before turning a few of the gears on his goggles.
His vision was soon flooded by different coordinates and notes from his past travels to different towns, he quickly turned a few gears and watched as a new set of coordinates showed up under his previous ones.
Karl was quite proud of the goggles, they were originally a gift from one of his best friends but Karl had had someone put some strange technology in them to help him not get lost, which happened more often then he would've liked to admit.
Once Karl was done marking the coordinates, he left the small town.
He ventured into the snowfield, there was a constant crunch under his shoes and a brightness in his sight from the snow.
Karl shivered and clutched his cloak closer to himself, he needed to get across the wide snowfield soon. The forest could offer shelter for miles and days- or at least until he reached his destination.
He walked for endless hours- the sun was high in the sky by now and there were no trees in sight. Karl was now going through all his memories of his friends from back home, he wondered how they were all doing and if they were ok.
Hopefully they were, they didn't deserve to be punished for being friends with him. Maybe they were just being interrogated, they were far too kind for the dungeons.
It was around 3pm and Karl was still trudging through the snow, his shoes were now soaked from with freezing water from the snow. It made him regret his decision of not packing in the time he had to escape.
But by the time he was done packing he wouldn't of had that big of a head-start, and he probably would've gotten caught by the time he was done anyway.
Suddenly, a loud voice interrupted his thoughts.
"Hey! You! Stop right there!" They yelled, Karl turned around to see five people running towards him in full sets of armour and equipped with too many weapons for his liking.
