I woke up with a loud bang in the kitchen.

I jumped up and ran downstairs to find my mother picking up a pot with oatmeal all over the floor.

"I'm sorry I woke you, I have to be at the office early today and I was making breakfast and I dropped the pot." My mother explained.

"I don't care that you woke me. I care that I needed to talk to you last night and you never answered when I knocked on your door." I spit out.

"I'm sorry. I know you wanted an answer but I had to think about it. It was a lot to think about. It's hard to let you leave for a month. As a mother, it's hard for me."

"Well I need give them an answer today. They leave tomorrow. I know you need to think about it but if I'm going, they need to get everything ready today for it."

"I was thinking. I would love for you to go and have fun. But ever since your dad died, I just don't want to loose you too. It was so hard and I can't just be without you for a month."

"What about college? I would go away to college. What would you do, hide in my suitcase?" I replied.

"I figured I would have a few more years before that. I don't know if I can just let you go in a day. Wouldn't you miss me?" She was starting to cry.

"Of course I would miss you. I would call and text and video chat all the time. I'm not just going to forget about you. I'm gonna come home. I won't be gone forever." I said softly.

"I know, it's just so hard. I don't know. I would just miss you."

"I promise. We can talk everyday, I will send pictures, I will keep you posted on everything. I won't just go a month without talking to you."

"Ok. But what about you and Ross? What happens if you two fight or something happens? Then what? You can't just go home."

"Ross and I have talked that over too. He said we won't fight, and if I need a girl to talk to, Rydel is always on tour with us. I won't have any issues."

"Well, I would like to meet his family. Maybe they can come over for dinner tonight? So I can meet them and I can talk to his parents about everything."

"I will ask Ross and let you know."

"Alright. Then I will stay home today and start preparing the meal. How many people are there?"

"There's his parents, his four siblings, him, and Ratliff, so eight." I said.

"Alright. Then I'm going to the grocery store first. I will be back soon. Tell Ross to bring his family."

"I don't know if Riker will come." I said under my breath.

"That reminds me. What happened between you two? You were sneaking him out of the house yesterday. Don't tell me you and him did something I don't wanna know about yesterday." She started getting mad.

"No, when I went upstairs to get the movie, Riker was in my room. He said he wanted to talk to me so we talked quickly. He didn't know Ross was still here and he didn't want him to find out so I snuck him out."

"Why couldn't Ross know?"

"Because Riker likes me and I told him I want to be with Ross and he said he understands but he won't stop trying and Ross gets upset when Riker starts clinging to me." I tried to explain.

"I guess that makes sense. Well, I better call in sick and go to the store. Let Ross know dinner is here tonight and to bring his family." She said and walked out the door.

I looked at the time, 6:30 am. I doubt Ross would answer a text. Who knows why my mother has to be at the store at this time. It's not like dinners twelve hours away or anything....
