"Ashely." I breathed.

(Ashley's point of view)

I woke up and saw Ross leaving the room. Where was he going? Where was I?

"Ross? What's going on?" I asked.

He ran over to my bed and grabbed my hand.

"Ashley. You're ok! I was just about to leave. How do you feel?" He said frantically.

"I'm really sore. Am I in the hospital? The last thing I remember was telling you not to leave me in the ambulance."

"You've been in the hospital for hours now. I watched you die. I thought I lost you." Ross started crying.

"Don't cry. What do you mean you watched me die?"

"You lost so much blood. Your heart stopped. They had to shock you to bring you back. I was watching from the hallway. I was a wreck. Your moms on her way here."

"I'm sorry I did that to you Ross. If I wouldn't have, Rocky would be dead though. I couldn't live knowing it was my fault. Where's everyone else?" I asked, looking around the room.

"Visiting hours are over. The all had to leave. That's where I was heading until I heard you say my name. I thought I was imagining it. It made me so happy to hear your voice again."

"Don't leave me." I whispered.

"I'm not going anywhere." He kissed my forehead.

"Ross, I said we have to go." Rydel said, standing in the doorway.

"Hey Rydel, you don't sound too happy." I laughed.

"Ashley! You're awake!" She bounded over to my bed. "How long have you been up?"

"I was leaving the room right behind you and she woke up." Ross said.

"Well, I would say let's go, but I know you won't leave Ashely. So just don't get in trouble." Rydel turned and left the room.

"How long have I been out?" I asked Ross.

"Almost a full day. Ever since last night when you were shot."

"I'm so tired Ross." I whispered.

"I need to tell you something. I called your mom and she's on her way to see you. She should be here shortly and I know she won't give a shit that visiting hours are over."

"What did you tell her?"

"I told her what happened. At the time, you had just been shocked back to life and I told her it doesn't look good."

I let out a sigh. "She shouldn't be out in public that upset."

"I know. There was no other option."

"Ashely!" My mother screamed through the door.

Ross jumped up but never left my side.

"I'm fine mom. A little sore but it's good." I said lazily.

"You were shot! You aren't fine! You could have died! I knew I shouldn't have let you go on tour." She turned quickly to Ross. "I told you to protect her and look what all has happened to her. I trusted you with my daughters life and look where that got her!" She was screaming.

"Mom! It's not Ross's fault! I jumped in front of the gun, Ross didn't push me! Stop yelling at him. I'm alive and it's because of him. If you want to yell at anyone, yell at the gunman!" I was getting angry.
