"Riker, what are you doing?" I said, pushing his chest. "We've been over this so many times."
"If you move to Cali, we can be together. Ross won't have to know. It can be our little secret." Riker smirked.
"Yeah, there's one problem though. I love Ross. What don't you understand about that?"
"I know you want me Ashley. I see how you get around me, especially when we're next to a shower or a bed."
"That doesn't mean I don't wanna be with Ross."
"You don't deny it."
I took a deep breath. "Riker, you have to leave. I'm not moving to Cali, I'm going back to Pennsylvania to finish high school. When I graduate and turn eighteen, I will move here. But it's not going to be for you. It's going to be so I can be close to Ross and go to college here."
"I see. You're waiting until you're legal. I can respect that." Riker moved forward to kiss me again but I moved out of the way.
"Leave. Now."
"Ashley, come on. We can work this out."
"No, Riker. You don't understand. Leave."
He turned and started for the door. Just as he reached for the handle, he turned around and came back to me. He pushed his lips against mine and I didn't pull away.
"That proves it. You do want me. You didn't pull away." With a smirk, he left the room.
"What was that?" Rocky asked from the doorway.
"I was alone with Riker, that's what that was." I said, running my hands through my hair.
"You just let him kiss you."
"You weren't here for the argument. I already tried pushing him away from me, literally, but he kept coming back."
"Would you push me away?" He asked.
I glanced over to him. "I don't know." I whispered.
I saw Ross walk through the door behind Rocky.
"I just saw Riker leaving. When did he get here? And when did Rocky get here?" Ross said, holding a sandwich.
"Riker came to talk to me. I told him to leave. Rocky just got here." I said, laying back down.
"What did Riker want to talk about?" Ross pushed.
I pulled the blanket up over my head.
"Do you know, Rocky?" Ross directed his attention to Rocky.
"I walked in the room and saw them kissing." Rocky almost whispered.
"What?" Ross reached over and pulled my blanket down. "What's he talking about, Ashley?"
I let out a long breath and gave Rocky a death stare. "Riker was hiding in the bathroom the whole time my mother was talking about moving. He came out and told me if I moved here, we could be together and then he kissed me. I pushed him away and told him to leave. He started leaving and I was about to get back in bed when he came over and kissed me again. That's when Rocky walked in. I told Riker to leave and Rocky must have only seen that part."
"Were you going to tell me if Rocky wasn't here?" Ross asked.
"Of course I was. I just wanted to try to ease into it. Not just start with us kissing. I didn't kiss back by the way." I lied.
Ross seemed to relax. "I brought you a sandwich." He said, handing it to me.
"Where's my mom?" I asked.
