"What do you mean, pregnant?" I asked.

"I mean, there will soon be a person coming out of me." She sarcastically replied.

"Weren't you two using protection?"

"Of course we were. It's not one hundred percent effective. I don't know what I'm gonna do!" She started crying again.

"Don't cry, Rydel. We will figure out what to do. Have you told anyone else?" I tried to comfort her.

"No. You're the only one I've told."

"Not even Ratliff?"

"I don't know how to tell Ellington! What if he doesn't want a kid? What if he's not ready?"

"He's just as far in this as you. You have to tell him. You have to tell your parents too."

Rydel nodded. "What should I say? When should I do it?"

"Right now is as good of a time as any. Tell him whatever you feel necessary."

"I want you here when I tell him." She whispered.

"I won't leave your side."

She nodded and took a deep breath. "Ellington!" She yelled. "Will you come here for a second?"

Ratliff poked his head in the doorway. "What's up? Oh hey Ashley, what are you doing in here?" He slowly walked further into the room.

"Rydel needs to tell you something." I said quietly.

She took my hand and looked at Ratliff. "Do you love me?" She asked quietly.

"Of course I do, you know that. What's this about?" He asked suspiciously.

"I'm pregnant." She whispered.

"What?" He asked slowly. "Pregnant?"

Rydel wiped her hand across her face to dry her tears and nodded.

"I'm gonna be a dad." He said quietly. "We're gonna be parents!" His face adapted to a huge smile.

"You're happy about this?" Rydel asked cautiously.

"Of course I am! We're having a baby!" Ratliff walked over and picked up Rydel, swinging her around in a circle. "This is great news!"

"Are you sure you're ready for a baby?" She whispered.

"I think we can do it." He smiled. "We should tell the boys."

"You really think they'll be supportive?"

"Only one way to find out." He turned to me. "Will you get the boys? Tell them to meet us in the living room."

I went to Riker's room first. I knocked quietly.

"Come in!" He yelled.

I pushed open the door to find him laying on his bed.

"What? Isn't Ross good enough? You need someone to finish the job, don't you?" He smirked.

"No." I said, trying to withhold my blush. "Ratliff and Rydel want to share some news. Go to the living room."

"You sure you don't wanna have some fun real quick? I can finish what Ross started."

"Not funny." I turned and left the room.

I quickly found my way to Rocky's room. The door was opened so I walked in. I could see him up on his bunk.

"Rocky!" I called.

No answer.

"Rocky! Come on!" He must have had headphones in.
