It was hard to fall back asleep after my nightmare. Somehow, Ross coaxed me back into sleep and I didn't have another dream.
-------------------------------------------
When I woke up, Ross was still asleep beside me.
I didn't want to wake him, so I tried to climb out by myself. I opened the curtain and swung a leg over Ross. I was just about to jump down when I felt hands around my waist and I was lowered to the floor. I turned to see Riker.
"What are you doing up?" I whispered.
"I couldn't sleep. What about you?"
"Same. I didn't want to wake Ross so I tried getting out myself. Thanks for the help." I smiled.
"No problem. Come on, I'll make you breakfast. I see you're still wearing my shirt."
"I'll go change." I said, my cheeks burning.
"I like seeing you wear my clothes." He smirked.
We walked to the kitchen on the bus. It consisted of a small fridge, a stove, a microwave, and a small sink. Riker didn't slow down when he got to it, and pulled a carton of eggs out of the fridge and a skillet out of the drawer.
"Wow. Eggs. You must be a master chef." I laughed.
"Hey, don't diss my eggs until you've tried them. I make the best eggs." He returned the smile.
When he was done, he grabbed two plates and forks and walked to the small booth. We sat down and he set the table.
"Do you eat anything with your eggs?" He asked. "Ya know, like ketchup or somethin?"
"I eat hot sauce with my eggs."
"How? I can't stand spicy food."
He got up from the table and went to the fridge to pull out a small bottle of hot sauce.
"Go wild." He said, setting the hot sauce in front of me.
When we were done eating, I stood to clear the table.
"Don't. I got this." Riker said, putting his hand on top of mine.
"I have two useable hands and feet, I can help clean up." I argued.
"I want to do it for you." He smiled, and walked to the sink.
Ross walked out from the bunks.
"What are you doing up? I woke up and you were gone." He sounded worried.
"I didn't want to wake you. I felt bad after last night. I couldn't fall back to sleep so I got up."
"How did you get down by yourself?"
"I was just about to jump down when Riker came over and helped me."
"You should have woken me up." Was all he said.
I started getting irritated that he was upset over this.
"I could have made you breakfast." Ross said.
"Riker was already up, he offered and I ate. What's the big deal?"
"You should have woken me up." He leaned in closer so Riker couldn't hear. "I don't feel comfortable leaving you alone around Riker. I feel like he's gonna try something and I won't be there to protect you."
"It's alright. I won't stray far from your side. Besides, I think Riker has backed off since the accident. It's alright. I didn't want to wake you because I woke you last night. I felt bad and wanted you to sleep."
