UNKNOWNThe human stares at me with wide eyes as she's driven out of the forest. I would love nothing more than to kill Kyle and rip her throat out, but I keep my distance and my cool. I will get her and Dean but for now I will watch. I will wait.
'The Monopropoline is working, Alpha.' One of the Rogues say through the mind-link as the pack breaks through the shadows, flanking me.
'We got as far the south of the perimeter without raising suspicion.' Adam adds, 'their guard is down.'
'Good, once we've strengthened our numbers and acquired more of the drug, I'll finally be able to get my title back, but not before I kill that brother of mine.' I growl, my feet pounding on the forest floor as I run faster. I listen as the two in the car talk, the human asking a long list of mundane questions before as the one that causes me to bare my teeth, thirsty for blood.
"Is that what happened with Deans brother?" Her voice muffled through the car. What does she know?! How dare she ask about me? Kyle dodges her question mumbling something about talking to Dean. Of course, the coward hasn't told her about me. They were afraid to utter my name since I left the pack, scared I would return and prove their horror stories right. Little did they know.
'Get a progress report from the others.' I tell Adam, dismissing him and the rest of the pack. Slowing from a run to a gallop, my watch as the car stops and Kyle announces that they have arrived, keeping tight to the darkness. Now that I know where she lives it will be easy to always keep someone on her, learning her routine and habits. Kyle says his goodbyes before getting back in the car and driving away, the girl talking in the house. I sit and wait, hearing her walk around the house, continuing her incessant talking before she stops at a window and freezes. I retreat further into the darkness not ready to give her any details of my wolf- yet. she slowly looks out the window, her fragile heart increasing in its pace, as I feel my eyes glow again. Her breathing hitches as she discovers me before I once again find cover in the shadows.
Soon human. Soon we will meet. And you will be dead.
DEAN
"Have we received any word on Adams whereabouts?" Blake asks me, as I step into the Council Chambers.
"I had Joe dig up everything he could about him once he was banished from the pack. I will pick up the file tomorrow." I cross my arms, a part of me ready to jump down the councils' throats for making me leave Selene.
"Okay, and what about Tyler? Any news on him?"
"He was last seen in Detroit."
"And his location now?" I clench my jaw.
"We don't know. We lost him. he stayed in plain sight up until a few months ago and we haven't been able to find him since." I tell them as a collective gasp fills the room, some of the other members now talking amongst themselves about the debacle before Blake clears his throat and the talking ceases.
"Are we sure he hasn't returned?" The thought makes me feel ill especially since I have more to consider with Selene in the picture now.
"There haven't been any sightings- I even have Alphas from neighboring packs keeping an eye out. If he got back into Chicago- I'd know about it." I tell them firmly.
"You know as well as the rest of us that Tyler has his ways and sources. He is capable of more then we know." He is. Whenever Tyler puts his mind to something it isn't long before he's achieved it. Could he be back? What does that mean for Selene? My blood runs cold- the thought of Selene being hurt at the hands of that lunatic causes my stomach to churn.
