DEAN'She is here.' My wolf tells me as I pull into the parking lot of the Tribune, her scent hitting me at once. A wave of nervousness sweeps through me, this will be her first time seeing me as me, not as my wolf- not that she will know that. I park the car and get out, looking at the building in front of me. To everyone else this is a newspaper building and it is, but it is also where I collect all my information on everything that happens in Chicago, where it pertains to the wolves anyway. I enter the building and head to the elevator.
'Joe I am here. Do you have that folder for me?' I ask him through our link.
'Yes Alpha.' He answers as the elevator doors open and I get on heading to the third floor to meet him. As the doors open, her smell hits me like a bus and it takes everything in my power not to run and take her into my arms.
"Hello Alpha." Joe says stepping to the side as I step out. Aviva looks up, shocked to see me before looking down again and I look over at the girl who already makes me feel whole. I hear her heartbeat change sensing her nervousness and I wonder if she somehow knows that is how she makes me feel too. I tear my eyes away from the beauty a few feet away from me and follow Joe into his office.
"I need everything you can dig up on Adam." I tell him once the door closes. Joe walks around his desk, to the filing cabinet behind it putting the pin number in and opening it, fingering through the files.
"Do you think he is going to try to come back?" Joe asks, pulling a folder out and handing it to me.
"I do not know what he will do, but I would not be surprised if he met up with a certain... person, while he is out there." I say flipping through the folder that contains that last known location of my brother, Tyler.
"Do you think he'd come back again?" Joe asks fear thick in his voice. I close the folder looking up at Joe, he has a right to be fearful.
"He is unpredictable, you know that." I tell him.
"Well, let us hope he stays away." Joe shudders and walks to the door.
"Let us hope." I agree. The girl's eyes snap to the door as we exit.
"Congratulations on finding your mate Alpha." Joe mutters quietly, careful of his surroundings.
"I want to meet her." I tell him.
"You know Aviva will not like that." Joe informs me. She is worried about keeping our secret a secret until she knows Selene can handle it. She is very protective over her- for what I do not know.
"Aviva will be ok." I tell him and he walks over to her and pulls her to the side.
"He wants to meet Selene." Joe tells her and she looks at me quickly.
"Now?" She asks and I nod my head answering her question. I look at Selene, who is trying her hardest to find out what is going on.
"You are all set Alpha." Joe says as someone walks over to him and asks him something, I pay no attention to. I walk over to where the Selene sits, stopping by her computer not trusting myself to be too close to her.
"Hello," I say smiling holding my hand out to her, "I am Dean Andrews, Joe's boss." She stands up taking my hand without hesitation and a euphoric feeling shoots through my body causing me to shudder slightly. She feels the same and gasps before introducing herself.
"I-I am Selene McNeil." She stutters, forcing me to smile harder. I turn to Aviva, who stands up and shakes my hand,
"Aviva Miller." She says looking at me awkwardly and I force myself not to smile.
