I feel like I've entered the Twilight Zone, like everything around me is one big lie- a mess.  It's been two weeks. Two weeks since Dean told me his secret- or showed me rather- turning my world on its axis. He's not human.  Since that night, I find myself struggling to even get out of bed, my body heavy, the simplest of tasks taking all my energy, but still I dragged myself to work. I groan, closing the letter in front of me that I've read twice already- unable to focus. My mind scattered.

"Are you okay?" Aviva asks, peeking up from her computer.

"No." I answer, watching as my phone begins to vibrate- Dean calling for the ninth time today.

"Is it Dean?" she asks, placing a hand on my shoulder as the vibration stops.

"Is it that obvious?" I chuckle lightly, "I don't know what's going on. I shouldn't be like this right now. I barely know him, but I feel like someone reached inside me and scooped out my soul."

"Selene, what happened?" She asks, concern in her voice, I shake my head, I can't tell her the truth.

"He has secrets." I say, a shiver running down my spine as I remember Dean standing in front of me- furry and on all fours.

"So? Everyone has secrets." Aviva cocks an eyebrow, a small smile passing her lips.

No, not like this. He has big, scary secrets and I can't even-" I struggle to find the words.

"What? Is he a big Luke Bryan fan?" She jokes, grimacing showing her hatred for country music.

"No." I smirk, "Worse. I'm scared Vi."

"Selene, have you tried talking to him?" She asks, the humor gone from her voice.

"I don't even know how."

"Well, you stop ignoring him for one. Selene, do you think that maybe he feared telling you this secret- whatever it is because he didn't want to risk losing you?" Too late.

"I don't know what to do with this information Aviva." I groan, "I want things to go back to normal, I wish I never met him."

"You and I both know that's a lie. Selene, you light up when your around him. You need to stop hiding and talk to him, because as scared as you are right now, he's probably feeling it ten times over." She says her eyes suddenly far away, deep in thought.

"How would you know how he feels?" I ask her. For someone who claims not to know him, she sure seems worried.  My phone vibrates before she can answer, and Aviva visibly sighs before rolling back to her desk.  What was that? I think, staring at her as she starts working again, avoiding my gaze. Tearing my gaze away, I look at my phone, not a call but a message this time,

Please. No more secrets. I'll tell you everything, just give me a chance. I huff, gathering my things and standing up.

"Cover for me?" I ask Aviva and she nods, her eyes never leaving the screen. I quickly make my way to the elevator, not wanting Joe to catch me. As the doors close, I unlock my phone, calling Dean. The phone rings once before he picks up,

"Selene." He sighs, his voice thick with exhaustion and relief.

"You wanted to explain, Meet me at my house." I say, before hanging up. No turning back now. The drive home seemed like an eternity, as I tried calmed my nerves, trying to keep the fear at bay. I pull into the driveway to see Dean's already there, sitting on the porch in a grey sweatsuit. I turn the car off, sitting back in the seat, my eyes locking with Dean's. I take the time to fully take in his appearance, the bags dark under his eyes, a small beard having grown in since I last saw him. He looks like he's in pain.  I get out of the car and make my way slowly over to him, careful to keep my distance as he stands.
