DEAN
"I have the information on Adam you asked for Alpha." Joe says, knocking on the door, stepping into my office and placing them on my desk.
"Thank you, Joe." I pick up the folder, flipping through it. "It says he has a brother in Texas, that is who he got the wolfsbane from. His brother is an officer there, that is why he refused to tell me. Adam is still in Chicago?" I ask, tossing the folder to the side.
"Yes Alpha. He is still in the area." Joe tells me, walking to the door.
"Joe?" I call out to him and he turns in the doorway.
"Yes Alpha?"
"Is Selene in today?" I ask him.
"Yes, she should be there now sir." He says amusement in his eyes.
"Good, I will be stealing her from you today." I tell him and he nods leaving the office as I go back to the paperwork in front of me. The hairs on the back of my neck stand up and I find myself feeling flustered, anxious to see her again. I have never felt like this before, the surge of emotions, the want to kiss her again and never stop. God I am a teenage boy.
"You found her?!" My dad's voice breaks through my thoughts. Oh shit! I think wanting to disappear into the chair. I peek up at him slowly as he stands in front of my desk arms crossed over his chest, a big smile on his face. "Well?" How did I forget to tell my father?
"I'm sorry Dad." I say sheepishly, feeling like a child with his hand caught in the cookie jar.
"You're sorry? Where is my future daughter in law?" He asks me, sitting in the chair in front of me.
"She is at work Dad." I tell him, knowing what is coming next.
"Why is she at work? Does she not know she is needed here?" He asks me, confusion laced in his voice.
"No, she does not Dad." He sits up straight, angry flashes across his face, but he quickly hides it.
"She needs to be here; this is her place now. Any wolf knows that unless," He trails off sitting back in the chair, rubbing a hand over his face, "Dean is she not one of us?"
"She is human, but she is also my mate and when I tell her she will make a great Luna." I tell him, there has always been a stigma in the wolf world about human Lunas, some feel that they are too emotional, uncapable of being there for the pack, their closed-minded nature causes them to reject the unknown and even their mates. Selene is not like that, she will understand.
"Dean, how much do you know about this girl?" My father asks me.
"What does it matter how much I know about her Dad? I just met her."
"Well how stable is she? Will she be able to be here for us when we need her, or will we be left with a weak Luna?" A deep growl reverberates from my chest, causing the windows to rattle and my father falls silent.
"Selene is not weak!" I stand up, my wolf wanting to defend his mate, but I would never hurt my father.
'Father or not he needs to know his place.' My wolf says. My father's eyes turn a bright blue, his wolf showing himself, not liking my tone.
"I didn't mean it like that son, I am simply worried for the pack. I also do not want to see you hurt if this goes south." He says taking a deep breath, his eyes returning to normal. He stands up and comes around placing his hands on my shoulders. "I am sorry if I offended you Dean. That was not my intention."
