The sound of hushed whispers wakes me, and it takes me a moment to remember what happened. Liam is back. Where am I? I think, sitting up in a bed. I am not in the hospital, so where did Dean take me.
"She is fine sir; she had a panic attack and from what you told me that man at the restaurant is the cause of it." A male voice says from behind the door. "Do you have any idea who he is?"
"No," Deans voice cuts in, sounding stressed, "but I am hoping that she can tell me when she wakes up."
"Dean?" I call out and the door flies open, a very relieved Dean behind it.
"Selene," He sighs, flipping on the light and coming into the room, walking to the bed, "Are you okay?" He asks sitting on the bed and kissing my forehead.
"Yeah, I am fine." I assure him, placing my hand on his.
"Hello Selene, I am Doctor Stevens." A small man a few inches taller than me, with kind grey eyes and salt and pepper hair walks up to me, holding his hand out for me to shake.
"Hello." I mumble, looking at Dean, "What happened to Liam?" I ask him and he looks at me confused, "The man from the restaurant."
"Oh, the waiters made him leave. I don't know where he went." Dean says. So, he is just out wandering the streets? Does he know where I live? Just the idea of him being able to get to me causes shivers to run down my spine and I feel nauseous. As if feeling my fear Dean wraps his arms around me, holding me to his chest, his scent enveloping me as I wrap my arms around him, not wanting to let go.
"Selene are you prone to panic attacks?" The doctor asks, his hands shoved in his pockets.
"I have had them before, yes. My therapist has me on medication for it." I tell him, pulling away from Dean reluctantly, who keeps his hand on the small of my back.
"Selene who is Liam?" Dean asks me and I stiffen, sliding away from him.
"I will give you two a moment." Doctor Stevens says and he quickly exits the room closing the door behind him. The room an uncomfortable silence as Dean waits for me to answer. I get up and walk to the window overlooking a large clearing, a small village sitting on it. Where are we?
"Selene." Dean says, breaking through my thoughts.
"I don't want to talk about it, Dean." I tell him, crossing my arms over my chest, hugging myself. He is never going to look at me the same, and this whole relationship will be over. Dean gets up from the bed and walks over to me, placing his hands on my shoulders.
"You can tell me anything you know that, right?" He asks.
"Yes." I answer, knowing in my heart that I can tell him anything, but not this. This is too much.
"Please tell me." He says softly. He grabs my hand and leads back to the bed, sitting on the edge pulling me into him. I caress his face as I stand between his legs and he leans into my touch earning a smile from me. I stare at him a little longer, battling with myself if I should tell him about this part of myself. The weak, ugly version of me. This could end badly. Or not. A small voice speaks in the back of my head.
"Liam is- was my foster brother. Do remember me telling you about it at the café?" I sit next to him, running a hand through my hair.
"You said some homes were worse than others." He recalls.
"Well, his home was the worse of them all," I stare out at the dresser in front of us, "It started off like the others you know? We were awkward around each other; he always gave me a weird vibe. He seemed off in a lot of ways, he was always flirty with me and I just brushed it off. He was two years older than me- I was seventeen at the time." I picture the boy with a sinister smile in my head, seemingly innocent to those who knew him- or claimed too, but something else entirely around me.
