This is a short vampire au with ambiguous details.
Hope you enjoy.

P.S. I'm not sure which category in the road map to put this into yet. Let me know what you think.

And don't be surprised if you find some chapters out of order.
Wattpad is acting up and all my drafts are messed up in order. It won't even let me add chapters to this book, saying it reached the maximum part limit. (which it hasn't)
🤦🤦🤦🤦

Rain's pov:

"And that's how i met your papa for the first time." I smiled at the two sitting cross-legged infront of me.

"So papa saved you from the humans who were trying to burn you at the stake?" Star asked.

I nodded. "Yup."

"Why were humans so mean to you, p'Rain?" Dew frowned.

I smiled, reaching out and patting his head. "Who knows. Some humans are just evil. Just like how some of us are also evil."

"But it's ok. Papa saved p'Rain from those mean humans. And p'Rain became our papa's family." Star smiled.

"Yup. I got to be a part of a very cute family instead." I chuckled.

"What's going on here?"

We looked toward the door to see Sky come in.

"Welcome back, papa." Star smiled widely at him.

"I'm back sweethearts. What are you guys talking about so seriously?" He smiled, coming up to us and plopping down onto the couch next to me.

"P'Rain told us the story about how he met you for the first time." Dew answered.

"Is that so?" Sky raised his eyebrows and looked at me.

I shrugged, sitting back on the couch. "They asked, so i told them. They're old enough anyway."

"Ok, now go do your homework. I know you haven't done them yet. You have school tomorrow." Sky looked at them.

They grumbled under their breaths but followed obediently.

"They've grown a lot in the last 3 years." I chuckled as i watched them go upstairs.

"They have. They are completely different from when i picked them up from the streets 3 years ago." He smiled.

"Yeah. They look like different people. Which is great. They're doing much better now and are so much happier." I sighed happily.

He hummed and nodded.
.
.
.
A few seconds passed in silence before he spoke again.

"Today is the end of the 5th year." He put a hand on my thigh.

I hummed. "Soon, my wait will end."

"I don't know how you do this every time. I could never push through like this." He sighed.

I smiled thinly. "I just hold onto our memories together as tight as i can. And wait."

"You're much braver than i can ever be." He chuckled softly.

I took his hand and squeezed it gently. "I'm able to bear it somehow. But i wouldn't wish this pain on anyone. Especially not you or any of the others."

He turned his hand, squeezing my hand back. "I know. I wish you didn't have to go through it either."

"I chose this pain for myself. I don't regret that choice. I never will. He is worth every second of pain." I replied in a soft but firm voice.
